If you like your meat the Sunday platter sharer is top drawer.....loads of Beef, Turkey, Pork and all the trimmings - proper cuts and veg - not GM, staff very helpful and friendly....try a beer outside looking out over the river afterwards....boootiful

We had a lovely Valentines meal at The Otter and just like the one we had on Christmas Day, the organisation was perfect. Not rushed, not too busy, the food was amazing and the staff great! Can highly recommend

Four of us went for a meal on Good Friday. The pub was very busy and the three serving staff were rushed off their feet but coped really well as did the kitchen staff. A really good experience.

We'd not been for 9 years after having a bad experience with rude staff but yesterday the place was back to how good it used to be. Service was great and the food was excellent. Cannot fault anything, we will now return again.

Visited the Otter on Mother’s Day which also coincided with my birthday. Decided to opt for the Mother’s Day special menu because of the great dishes on offer. The meal was excellent and none of our party of four could fault it. We were looked after by Cat who could not have been more helpful. All in all a very enjoyable experience and we will definitely be making a return visit.

What a fabulous mother’s day we had at The Otter - our table was ready even though we arrived early . We opted for the Mothers Day 3 course menu which had loads of choice . The starters were delicious as were the mains with plenty of choice - finishing off with a super dessert . The 3 courses were brought out promptly and the waitress couldn’t have been more helpful . All in all a fabulous experience all round . Thankyou can’t wait to return !

Friendly, helpful staff and excellent food. Set alongside the river Soar and with outside seating on good decking, it was the perfect setting for the evening and rounded off our day.

So nice to see the place to the standards of a few years ago. Great food and great service. A vast improvement on our last visit. Will certainly not avoid the place.

Top class visit to The Otter. Server Mel was absolutely fantastic and recommended some really nice dishes. The pork belly was cooked to perfection, brilliant dish that could not be faulted. I’d have it daily if I could. Coupled with the spot on Mac & cheese side. Management (Ian) was extremely friendly and welcoming and got us seated immediately upon arrival. Top bloke who made the experience second to none. Mel’s knowledge of the menu and ability to present the menu, specials etc was fantastic. She is a credit to the business. This stood the restaurant out from that of any other I have visited. It made it feel like a fine dining experience. Staff were excellent. Taking all into account, this was an excellent meal out and I’ll be returning as soon as I possibly can. Thanks again Otter team! Jake

Would highly recommend The Otter. It's in a beautiful setting by the water, very relaxing watching the birds. It's in the flight path from East Midlands Airport so if you like to see planes as we do, a bonus! It's also dog friendly with treats and water, so we were able to bring our pooch instead of leaving her at home. The food was excellent, the best pork belly I've ever tasted. My son had a pizza, also excellent. I'd say it's a little pricey but well worth it and we will definitely be going back again.

Really nice lunchtime spot overlooking the river. Had the brisket in sourdough with sweet potato fries in an effort to keep the calories down. Great service and got very busy shortly after we sat down. Pruced very reasonably. Will be back.

Have visited this restaurant multiple times over the past year and it never fails to disappoint. Always something new to try each visit as well due to an extensive menu!

I was very impressed. Travelling in two narrowboats we managed only just to get tethered to a rather gamel sort of pontoon that if it were better could attract far more passing water traffic. Anyway, the place itself is very nice, and was very busy at the time we visited (Sunday lunch). The food was excellent, not overcooked, well presented, however it could have been a few degrees hotter (comment not complaint!). The portion size for the very reasonable price was very good. Service was atentative yet very relaxed and friendly. Definitely a must stop and dine there (if they can do something about the moorings?)

The Otter has been done up since we last visited. Very tasteful. Great customer service. I had sea bass, and my husband had belly pork, which was cooked to perfection . Slightly high priced but so is everything these days.

Lovely pub and atmosphere. Just but not too full. Food was faultless. Lots of nice flavour and cooked well. Timings were spot on and our waitress Cat was attentive and offered recommendations which were perfect. Couldn’t fault the place.

Had an absolutely brilliant meal at The Otter. We arrived in a 66ft narrow boat and managed to moor it right outside. The service was excellent from the start, we were made to feel very welcome by the manager (I didn’t get her name) and our server Sally was phenomenal. Had great fun and the food was exceptional. We had the pork belly, halloumi skewered, special beef burger and fish and chips. Good sized portions all round.

The service was great, the staff were efficient, friendly and helpful. The food was all really good and we all had clean plates. The restaurant itself was comfortable and pleasant and we enjoyed the views (despite the rain). I would highly recommend The Otter.

Visited The Otter with my family and friends. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. There’s plenty of food to enjoy and something for even the pickiest of 10yo’s! The portion size was very generous, after main and pudding we were all full!
