I would definitely recommend a visit here. Lovely food and lovely people. They even kept our fish and chips warm until we came back from watching Orca from the John O'Groats ferry.
Best place to eat at John o groats. Xxx
Soup excellent.
Coffee to die for.
Brilliant place, nothing was too much trouble. Don't expect haute cuisine, good, cheerful food that's not pretentious and doesn't cost a fortune. Staff fabulous and down to earth.
Wonderful ladies who even made a batch of lasagne just because I asked them to!! Very tasty food and great with the kids. Thanks again and see you next Orca Week
Great, friendly service from the guys at The Cabin. We ordered our fish and chips using messenger and they were ready to collect for us coming off the boat back from Orkney. Even had some salad and cakes thrown in. Will be back next time we're up. Cheers!
Great guy. Very helpful and very informative. Went over and above to my my lads day.
Great advice great banter and really braw cup of hot coffee and breakfast here .
Got my official MASSIVE NC500 sticker for my Cahone here from Jeff.
Lovely service and even better fish and chips. All ordered my messenger. And ready on the dot for collection.
Lovely egg and chips, and great banter with the staff. What more do you need!? :)
Fantastic vegetable haggis and chips - A*
Whilst doing the NC500 we stopping at the camp site at John O’Groats and found this amazing little place!!
We were only just in time for food (thank goodness, it was a long day), but we were met by a lovely smiley team who were more than helpful with everything we asked, even if we might have been a little awkward not knowing what we wanted to start with.
We had such a lovely time talking to others while waiting for food and when the food did come, this was just as lovely! We weren’t sure what to expect but this was definitely something we would be coming back for.
Even after our trip I wanted a hoody they had for sale and they have been lovely enough to offer to send me one to my house all the way in oxford!
We will be back!!
You get to the top of Scotland/Britain, and you want some sustenance? Check out The Cabin!
Set in a lovely port-adjacent cabin in the glorious John ‘O Groats, The Cabin offers travellers a great selection of hot and cold snacks, sweets and drinks, including the classic fish and chips! How on Earth the folks manage to coordinate their whole operation in such tight working conditions seems like magic, but they somehow make it work!
Seating is outside and provided by a couple of picnic benches, so best to go when the weather is nicer! A beautiful spot provides stunning scenery whilst you enjoy your tasty snacks.
This is a small little shed that does coffee and some snacks like a haggis bun. The best my husband ever tasted! Good coffee. Nice owners and ideal for take away when you go on the ferry to Orkney or on the road.
I’ve heard rumours that they had the best haggis around (locally caught) and they did not disappoint. Me and my partner absolutely loved the food and the chef. We enjoyed it so much we came back for more. 100% recommend
Beef burger, chicken burger, hot dog and chip butty, lovely food, good value for money, staying in the camp site next door 👍🏻
I would highly recommend The Cabin at John O Groats to anyone making a trip here! Geoff and Tracey are absolutely wonderful, so friendly and helpful. As a group of 5 vegans, finding a place to eat was a struggle in JOG, but they went out of their way to make an effort to not only accommodate us, but offer multiple options! We didn’t have to eat the same thing twice over the week we were all
There, but I must admit the vegan hotdog and chips was a winner for me! Highly highly recommended!
Best fish and chips we had! Just loved this place and the staff that works their! Great spot to get a quick bite while looking at the attractions!
We visited here during Easter Weekend, this is one of the very few places that open. Their fish and chips is very nice, the most amazing is the haggis, I had haggis in other restaurant before, but their haggis is really amazing, they said they sourced it from a nearby butcher, if you fancy a nice haggis, this is the place to be...
Great little food cabin in a place where having facilities at all is something to be grateful for! Super friendly owners who clearly work hard to keep their business running.
My friend had the fish and chips and said they were delicious, and (apparently a highlight??) loved the wide range of condiments. For me it was the burger and chips, again great food and definitely top chips.
Thanks from the naked cyclists!
Best Fish and Chips we had on our tour! Very friendly staff. You can sit at the harbour and look to the ocean. Perfect for a stop!
I wondered why this place is getting fewer ratings. I feel that the couple running this food kiosk is doing their best to serve all the customer needs. I ate fish and chips. It was decent. The batter is crispy, and the fish is fresh and flaky. The chips are crispy outside and soft and moist inside. Is this not what one should expect for fish and chips?
