We had a fantastic night at The Swan celebrating my mother in laws birthday. From the moment I walked through the door, nothing was too much trouble. Our cocktails were delicious, the serving staff were amazing at all times. Once we sat down to eat every dish came with a clear description and the wine pairing was explained perfectly. Compliments to the chefs for the lovely sample menu. Although it may be strange to mention, the plates and cutlery were particularly nice and I look forward to visiting again. Thank you to team Swan/Cygnet.
Worth the visit from central London - incredible food & service!
We recently visited the restaurant via train and were amazed by how scenic/convenient the entire journey was from both central London and Bicester Village. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with the overall ambience and service far exceeding our expectations.
We selected the tasting menu (with wine pairing) and really enjoyed the presentation of every single dish. We loved how there was a story behind each dish, with a unique combination of flavours!
Eager to return during Christmas - I can’t even begin to imagine how beautiful the main dining room will look like given the high ceilings and decorative lights.
Went for dinner 4-course set menu to celebrate our anniversary. Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was brilliant. Already recommended to friends/colleagues and will definitely be back!
An amazing spot! We were taken care of from start to finish. From the beautifully mixed (and beautiful looking) cocktails in the lounge, to the staff's expert service and knowledge about the food and wine, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The Cygnet restaurant itself is peaceful and cosy, yet full of atmosphere. Each course of the set menu was superb (although the Hake was particularly good!) and the wine flight plan to go with it was a perfect match. We couldn't recommend it more, definitely a gem worth discovering ✨️
First time eating at the Cygnet and we were not disappointed! Every dish we ate was incredible and I have to say the cocktails were some of the best I’ve ever tasted! The service was also exemplary.
The only thing we found odd was the choice of decor in the dining room…the rest of the venue is really tastefully done, but found the dining room to be very underwhelming and didn’t seem fitting with the standard of the rest of the restaurant. Otherwise everything was 10/10
Visited the restaurant last week and had a selection of small bites, as well as a couple of cocktails. The food was incredible, the lamb fries were a particular favourite. The staff were friendly and informative, definitely looking to head back as the menu refreshes.
Exquisite food, friendly service and great drinks. Quintessentially English countryside restaurant but with upgraded food, some spectacular cocktails and finely tunes wine list.
Wild Game Night A stunning display of faultless cooking. Also thanks to the whole team for their care and attention to detail (from coats to drinks to service) - impeccable service throughout without any stiff formality.
I love, love, love this restaurant! Not only was the food and wine top notch—even if I had a little bit too much of the latter—but the service was brilliant. I felt like it was my local haunt on the first visit.
Can't wait to go again with a larger party to show off this gem before it gets the inevitable star. ;)
Such great service, stunning food and really reasonable prices considering the standard.
The staff are faultless and nothing is to much trouble; this is now on a very select list of places we return to for date night.
Incredible food, well worth a special trip.
Every course was superbly balanced across flavour, texture and quality.
This menu cannot sit at £60 per head for much longer!
Only suggestion would be to change the music - too loud and an 80's / 90's playlist was not really in keeping with the overall vibe.
We were lucky enough to get a table on the opening night of The Cygnet and wow - we were totally blown away. The tasting menu was delicious, well-balanced and generous. Having been to many incredible restaurants and lucky enough to experience multiple tasting menus, I have to say The Cygnet is up there with the best. Super welcoming, unpretentious and just really really good, quality cooking. Thank you - can't wait to come back.
We have been eagerly awaiting the re-opening of The Swan and from the second we walked in on Day 4, we weren’t disappointed. The welcome we received from the chef Paul as well as every member of staff and the owners, was genuinely warm and so enthusiastic. The atmosphere in the eating area was buzzing.
Such a great idea to serve small plates during the opening week to showcase the talents of Paul and his team. We were starving when we arrived and what we ate was deserving of a Michelin starred tasting menu which I am sure will be awarded very soon.
The interior decor is subtle and tasteful and the toilets are very intriguing especially “Heaven”. We will definitely be regulars and look forward to the additional opening of The Cygnet restaurant shortly. Good luck to you all & thank you for a memorable evening.
Eating here is such an experience and offers complete, ultimate comfort, every element of the experience has been perfectly thought out.
The service was incredible, every member of staff knew what we needed and our preferences at all times, one member of staff even noticed I had put my blazer back on so turned up the radiator (everyone was incredibly thoughtful).
The food itself was delightful, we had the set menu, but the chefs kindly worked around our avoidance of red meats. I have never had such tender, melt in your mouth meat & fish before.
The ideal place for a special celebration or a treat to yourself. This is dining and service that you can’t forget… Thank you all at the Swann Inn for giving us such a special and sophisticated New Year’s Eve, my standards are now awfully high after visiting your restaurant 🎁
Great new destination in Islip. If the bar menu is this good, I can't wait for the full restaurant to open in a month or so. The renovated interior is great, with comfortable seating and a relaxed ambience. Space is limited so make sure that you book. Everything on the "tapas with a twist" menu is delicious. I have already eaten there twice and will soon be back for more. Outstanding.
We were lucky enough to eat in the first week of the opening with only small plates available while they ramp up for the full opening. This wasn't a usual menu of bar snacks or uninspired mock-tapas, instead they were more like parts of a make your own adventure tasting menu. Highlights included cured sea trout and a cheese course meets desert which was I think the first desert my wife has every truly enjoyed.
Now looking forward to the restaurant opening and seeing what else we can discover.
Incredible experience. If they don't receive their first Michelin star soon, I would be surprised. Outstanding dishes, great drinks and wine selection, awesome service. Chef and service are open and approachable. And I had the joy of meeting the owners when being there. Simply a MUST VISIT! I will be there again.
Incredible food, impeccable service. We had the 4 course menu in the new Cygnet restaurant. I had the vegetarian menu and what a treat - each course was its own taste journey. Each option presented similarly to the meat alternative, very well thought out and incredible flavours. The decor and general atmosphere of the building is wonderful and the service was 5*. A 'special treat' venue, highly recommend.
Visited for a weekday lunch. What a treat! Food was delicious and beautiful presented. We found the serving staff friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend for a lovely, relaxed meal. Looking forward to returning to sample the dinner (and drinks!) menus
