Gorgeous breakfast I'm beautiful scenery πŸ˜‹ However, I got to my breakfast just in the nick of time as the staff had just put my breakfast outside on the table for the flies to feast on whilst I was in the toilet. Would have been much better if they had kept my breakfast in the kitchen until I was seated. Luckily I was done in the lav just in time as I witnessed her walk away from my table. If I hadn't seen her leave it there I would NOT have eaten it & complained. Apart from flies & wasps, it is a 5* retreat! Our little hideaway from it all. Staff friendly & top chef! The presentation of the food & salads are wonderful! Dog friendly too! Ample parking & seating, indoors, outdoors or outdoors in a large white marque πŸ’—

A nice place to stop for some food and a drink while walking around the dam. They could do with some good signage at the entrance to advertise the place. Lovely views over the dam. A little dated inside. The service was quite slow, but the food was worth the wait. The staff were very friendly and helpful though, which have the place a nice atmosphere.

The Dam Bar & Grill offers a delightful experience for those looking to grab a bite or enjoy a snack. The friendly and efficient service provided here adds to the overall enjoyment. The food available is truly satisfying, and the drinks complement the experience perfectly, making them a well-deserved indulgence after a visit to Carmill Dam. While the ambiance may be a little dated, the stunning view from the front of the Dam Bar & Grill compensates for it.

Lovely views of the reservoir. A little wait for the food (which we were advised of) but we were in no rush. Although not on the menu the kitchen kindly toasted my cheese sandwich which went well with my tomato soup. They serve proper coffee in a good sized mug!.. Dog friendly both inside and out and there is a canopy over some of the benches. Large car park to the rear. Toilets were clean. Worth a visit if in the area!

We hired this venue for our wedding and also organised the buffet through Terri. Everyone commented on the atmosphere and nice surroundings. We managed to get some really nice photos overlooking the dam. All guests mentioned how nice the buffet was, all laid out nicely with a great variety of food. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, especially when it came to decorations for the outside and marquee (which is already there, no need to hire one!) Would highly recommend this as a venue for any party or even just a coffee and bite to eat whilst at Carr Mill Dam. Thanks again to Terri and all the staff!

We love coming here on our dog walks on a weekend. We haven't had food from here, usually just stop for a drink or 2. The dogs love it here, especially the treats! However we came on Sunday and there were kids running around, up and down the pub. It felt like a children's play area. We don't mind children playing but the screaming and then running in front of you as you were walking to the bar/toilet was a bit irritating. We sat outside and enjoyed the view over the dam. It was a much better atmosphere outside. The girl serving was lovely but she did say last orders was in 20 minutes. It was only 5.30pm and the pub was busy. So didn't quite understand why they would shut so early. We would've stayed for a second pint so we ended up walking round to the waterside for another drink before walking home. We will come back on our dog walks but definitely sit outside.

Haven't been here for a while due to some disappointing visits last year but we thought we'd give it another go after we heard of the changes that have been made. Our visit today was great. Such value for money and they had what we asked for on the menu (this hasn't been the case in the past, on more than one occasion) I had the dog walkers special, which was Β£4.50. It consists of a bowl of soup (choice of carrot and coriander or tomato and basil), a sandwich (choice of ham or cheese) and a cup of tea or coffee. My partner had the full English (Β£7.95 and that included a tea or coffee), which looked amazing. Looking forward to coming back and trying something else on the menu next time. Thanks for a nice visit.

Fantastic place to have a function. We had a baby shower here over the weekend and it was just perfect. The staff were great and helped to decorate beforehand too. Would definitely recommend 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We stopped off while walking around Billinge and Carmill Dam. Ordered a couple of full English breakfasts. The small breakfasts were surprisingly large and great value for money as they included a free tea and coffee. Nice place and good service. The only thing was that it was pretty cold inside so everyone was eating with hats and coats on.

This place has so much potential. Right on the Dam, the food is good. There is a lot of salt and pepper on the light bites menu, they could do with a bit more variety. The place could do with some smaller tables rather than large tables, would be better for foot traffic. Because of the bars' location the floor seems to get dirtier quicker than a typical cafe/restaurant, maybe more scheduled mopping needed. Although I would definitely recommend to families as it's animal and children friendly with a selection of old toys (maybe some new toys would make it look a but better!). Outside area is great for a nice summers day, most of this review is mainly to do with the inside.

Good food, friendly staff. We ate here twice. Unfortunately on the second occasion we waited over an hour for the food, but it was explained to us that a very large party had unexpectedly arrived, and it put pressure on the staff that were there (there was no requirement to book in beforehand, so possibly a hazard. We realised the size of the party as we saw them leaving, there were about 20 of them.)

Home of LPRC (Lancashire Powerboat Racing Club). Bar and cafe open to the public . Good food and drink. New racing members and non-racing helpers always welcome. Ask at the bar.

Beautiful views on your doorstep. I never even realised this was here on the carmill dam. I believe they have artists play on the weekends too. Great space for children to play while u unwind. Parking was great and caters for a good amount of vehicles. We ill be returningπŸ‘πŸ½

Lovely little spot, ideal for when you're walking/cycling. It's dog friendly too. The food is nice, and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, the service can be a little inconsistant. There are times when staff are friendly and efficient. And times when the service is slow and orders are wrong. On three occassions when I have asked for ice, the response has been "It's the back, do you still want it?" Asking for ice in a bar/restaurant shouldn't be too unusual of a request, especially in the Summer. It's on our doorstep which is handy, and the views outdoor are really nice. It's worth visiting.
