A proper pub with a lively atmosphere, even midweek out of the school holiday period. And, fully dog friendly.
Beer was Pride or Sea Fury, the Fury was very drinkable.
Food was simple but tasty. The lasagne was good, much better than it looked. The burger was a solid lump of beef, tasty and relatively unadorned.
Indoors is better than out the front on the main road.
Theres a pool table and a skittle alley too.
Good food at affordable prices served quickly. Did have the atmosphere of a local pub for local people, but the food outweighed that.
Fantastic "local-feel" pub serving good food and with a great location. The garden seating at the back is lovely in decent weather, as space can be somewhat limited inside for food (though there was a single large group of about 20 when we went, which would account for this). They have an indoors skittles alley...! Staff were welcoming and friendly. Would not hesitate to recommend or return.
Did not eat here but what food we did see looked nice. Good pint of larger. Friendly staff and dog friendly. Very clean and tidy
Very pleasant evening had. The staff were very friendly and accommodating the food was homely, limited choice but something for everyone's taste. Homely pub grub. They even have a pizza van outside for customers to sit drink outside and enjoy a pizza.
Good value, food was nice ,all round service good.
Lasagna was good but would prefer mine to be crispy topped, Pearsonal preference.
Bar area was bit noisy with locals otherwise nice meal
This pub served food on a Sunday evening which was very helpful. Reading other reviews I wasn't expecting high quality food but was pleasantly surprised at how tasty the lasagne was. The staff were very friendly and helpful - advising us when items weren't available and suggesting alternatives (we had peas instead of salad which was fine by me). The background music was good but just a tad loud.
Nice food, service and atmosphere.
Stayed in Our Motorhome over night for 2 nights at this pub, is on Searchforsites did phone ahead but no answer so just took chance and made most welcome, Already couple of other vans there. Food was absolutely fantastic. Nice garden which backs onto Chesil Beach.
Great food! Large portions of well cooked pub food :) crunchy chips! 👌🏽👌🏽
Large garden adjoining to the beach for an easy sea swim!
Friendly staff and music on weekends :)
Great pub lovely staff. Enjoyed chat with friendly locals. Plenty of choices will be back later in the week to eat 😁
We asked Mark the relatively new landlord if we could Motorhome stopover in the carpark, he was very hospitable & welcoming, we sat in beer garden which has direct access to Chesil beach, we also had few games of pool, there is a dartboard and a wooden skittle lane inside the pub, great little pub perfectly positioned🤗
Thank goodness someone has finally come and made a go of this place. So happy to see it back! Food is good, staff are friendly and well worth a visit.

Popped into the Little Ship for a meal on Saturday, 29th April. Loved the food, I had steak and chips and my wife had mac cheese. Great atmosphere and brilliant live music, thoroughly recommended!
