Portland’s best kept food secret. I almost didn’t want to write this review as the Sugar Loaf is such a wonderful traditional British cafe with great food, a cozy atmosphere (love the open fire or when it’s warmer the courtyard garden), fair prices and friendly staff I don’t want it to be too busy 🙂
Small cafe that we've been visiting for nearly 20 years, several times a year as we have friends on the island. Good food. Can only comment on the breakfast , but sausages are decent and everything comes cooked to perfection.

Very lovely! Came in for a coffee and it was delicious! Loved having the local newspapers on standby and the overall cafe was lovely and cozy and the dark oak and yellow walls with stone interior was really comfortable and fit perfectly

Absolutely beautifully cooked home made meals. I had the beef roast dinner an dit was gorgeous. The potatoes were cooked to perfection. We come here everytime we visit portland and it is always wonderful. The staff are super friendly and the service is always fast and great. Thank you Sugsr loaf onc
