Looked like it's been done up recently. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly. Expect solid portions of tasty British food rather than fine dining. Kids menu was OK.
Atmosphere was a bit flat as we were the only ones in but it was midweek out of high season.
what a fantastic place, pub... while my daughter and my beloved went to the lighthouse, I stopped here for a couple of beers and only had a phone with a credit card, which worked once ordered. The second beer card didn't work ,so the chap behind the bar paid another guy. I was chatting to paid for
Good food and drink and very hospital and tidy. Local gave up his his table so our group of four could sit and drink/eat together. Prawn sandwiches and a poke of chips. Very good. Good pint of Doombar.
2nd time here whilst on holidays & yet another top notch carvery Sunday lunch! So tasty, generous portions, and so reasonably priced. Staff all lovely & friendly & so welcoming. Went out of their way to accommodate us in the beer garden as there were no tables left inside. Look forward to visiting a
We had an amazing meal Wednesday night, fish pie and veg also steak and kidney suet pudding, enjoyed it so much went back Thursday. Food and service was excellent, lovely atmosphere, next time we are in Portland we know the best place to eat. Thank you Kelly and Chef

This lovely little pub on the side of a roundabout could be easily passed by but it really is worth stopping in for a visit.
It was our first time visiting the pub and from the moment we entered we were greeted with a warm and friendly smile. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff especially Jam
Stopped off for a pint and some food on a break from our coastal walk. Was told only basket menu....pleasantly surprised, husband had fish and chips , I had scampi and chips , a decent portion served in a basket. Great idea and really fair price. Very happy 👍
Best carvery / Sunday roast I've ever had in a pub. Fantastic roast potatoes. Great atmosphere in garden with live music.
Sunday Lunch........just aforementioned, absolutely delish! Proper gravy complements the quality of food as well which is rare from my eating out xp.
Wonderful Sunday Carvery, best roast potatoes ever (don't tell my mum). Generous meat portions, lots of veg variety. Would have been 5 stars but felt a little rushed, we weren't offered to see the dessert menu, and when asked were told there was no time as the next sitting was due in 10 minutes.
Great food and service. Meat was cooked to perfection. Would recommend
A quick search on Google and a phone call and wow how lucky were we
