Some of the best pub food in a long while was eaten here by my group. We were there early and our beer was not of the best, but secondary drinks were better. A minor issue. The pie was rated the best at pub ever.
First time visiting here, even tho it's just down the road!

All staff were friendly & welcoming, particularly the cute doggo behind the counter!
The food was delicious, great Sunday roast and the cherry cheesecake was to die for!

We came here to try something new and where we have been before. The halfway house was Good and was too busy when we came on Sunday. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The food we had roast lamb was very nice, but there was too (much gravy) they should have put it into a jug and the customer can serve it themselves. That was the downside. The pudding was lovely.
Without question, and consistently, the best delivered Sunday roast in this part of Sussex !
Delicious boned and rolled Lamb Shoulder, really excellent home made gravy (so hard to get these days), great roast potatoes, parsnip, carrots, cauliflower cheese, leeks, brocoli, red cabbage and a cracking Yorkshire pudding all beautifully cooked and served by a friendly and happy team.
Add in some of the best kept Harvey's in Sussex, and all at a sensible price, you won't go wrong here.
10/10 and highly recommended, but do book (especially if you want the Lamb!) as there is good reason as to why its so popular !!

Many thanks for an excellent meal for seventeen (plus a baby) of us yesterday lunchtime! Brilliantly coordinated with no fuss or stress: we all had hot, beautifully presented roast lunches at the same time! We very much appreciated the opportunity to celebrate our mother’s (and grandmother) 86th birthday. Very highly recommended.
Use this country pub quite a lot when we are in Sussex mel and the staff always very friendly
Six of us ate here a week ago. One vegetarian, and one with lactose and gluten intolerance. Great food, starters, mains and puds. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Some really interesting new dishes on the specials board and as always great value for money. Thanks for a really good time!
Proper home cooking... Excellent food. The kids had the adults Roasts and i was worried they couldn't finish it but they did because it was so tasty!

My family and I booked in advance for a Sunday roast in December. It wasn't too busy and we were served very quickly. Food was great and enjoyed by everyone. Staff were all very friendly. Food and drinks very reasonably priced. All round great pub atmosphere and worth traveling a bit to go to. Thanks!
Really lovely traditional pub, with healthy Sunday roast portions and even a dessert board brought to your table! It's honestly like stepping back in time to the 90s (or earlier!) Don't get many honest, old school pubs with great service, traditional good quality food and a lovely Springer spaniel to greet you at the door. Highly recommend. Also liked the veggie roast option.
Really nice varied menu - popped in for lunch and chose the steak and mushroom sandwich- really lovely fresh bread cut thick the steak strips were delicious but the portion was very small great chips and very good service
Food was good pub food. The dinning ares was very quiet on our Wednesday lunch visit. Good food delivery time. Staff could have been more sociable and friendly.
What can I say about this pub, absolutely beautiful spot. Amazing walks nearby, you'll usually see birds of prey like Buzzards or Red Kites if you sit in the garden. Surrounded by stunning countryside.
Best burger I've ever tasted with no exaggeration (southern fried chicken) great curry too. Chef is seriously decent.
They do a very good pint of Harveys Best to top it off.
