Great little cosy pub. Very traditional and no tv!!!!!!!!! Excellent food with a huge choice. Very good value. Look out for the 'special' pie nights etc., and the quizzes! Sunday lunches are fabulous :) Very accommodating to The Darby Singers for 'singing' meetings and meals. Can't recommend this venue enough for your social gathering/private party or just a good pint or a glass of wine at the bar! Many thanks to Andy and his team :)

Went in on Tuesday for "Pie Night". Had the Piggly Pie (pork, bacon and sausage) chips, gravy, carrots, broccoli and cauliflower cheese, washed down with a great pint of Hop Twister for £9. Great tasting food, substantial portions and very friendly service, amazing value for money. Can highly recommend a visit

We have travelled over from Australia and are staying in Ironbridge so we decided to try the Horse & Jockey for dinner. We were not disappointed. The service was brilliant and the food was awesome. The steaks were cooked to perfection. We couldn’t have asked for friendlier service. This is the best meal we have had since we got here. Will definitely be going again before we leave. Anyone who gets a chance should try here. Just brilliant.

Had such a fantastic lunch today with our friends, their children, our children and Ted the dog. The food was amazing and the service was excellent and so warm and friendly. As locals I can honestly say that we will be coming back. Thank you so much.

We ate here for the first time on a Thursday evening... We found the food to be fresh, delicious and hearty. A truly traditional country pub that deserves more praise and attention, Charles Bonser and his Fiancée ...

Very impressed from start to finish. Drive past the sign for the two steak deal everyday on my way home from work and finally went in after three years. Very friendly, very cosy and brilliant service. Best steak in Ironbridge! Great selection of ale too. Will be back again

Jed and Dot, the host and hostess immaculate, have done wonders with the place. A steady hand and a unerring eye for detail. If they were animal pair, they would be a panda and white seal. The ambience is irresistible and the courgette cheddar soda bread is to die for.

Wonderful Sunday roast! Service was lovely and friendly even though there was a large group in there- it didn’t show on the service. Quaint little place in a quiet area. The only downside was that they only had two ales, both bitter, not my cuppa but the food on its own makes it worth a visit anyway. The home made desserts were very delicious too. Very reasonable prices too. Highly recommended!

Came here for my birthday. The staff went the extra mile by adding a candle in my cake, found custard for my dad and handled food intolerances amazingly. The food was great! The atmosphere is nice. Lovely place

I shouldn't be writing this review because it will only make it worse for myself. We always go on a Tuesday for pie and a pint for £8. All home cooked food including the desserts. It used to be quieter but gets very busy now and you have to be early or the choice is limited from around 7 to just a couple. Sunday lunch is also amazing.

We had an absolutely wonderful time in this pub! the lady that served us, Donna I believe, who i presume must be the bar manager was fantastic! She served us fast and efficiently and we had a lovely chat. I would highly recommend this pub and ask for Donna if you want the best service :)

I went there with my family aged 12 to 76 . The menu had very good choices of starters mains and desserts. The food was beautifully cooked. The service was excellent, friendly but not overbearing or hurried. The pub is a very clean quaint old English pub with nooks and crannies. My brother and son loved the fact it was a free house and had a good selection of ales and beers. I will defiantly be going back for another meal on my next family visit to the Telford area.( 2014 )

Fantastic little gem hidden away from the overpriced bars and eateries on Ironbridge’s wharfage. Very cosy, very idyllic, and fantastic food with a well stocked bar and award-winning pies.
