A delightful evening. Started off by meeting the owner of the pub (and greater environs) in the car park, driving about in a black cab. We were charmed and welcomed right from the start. After a long day the garden was peaceful, the food was an interesting pub menu done well, and the service from all was perfect. Special thanks to Ray who would not be deterred from returning home purely to collect some mint so I could have a most excellent Mojito. Top drawer!
We came for Sunday lunch . The food was delicious and hot complement to the chef . I was asked how I would like my roast beef this is always a plus . Very clean very friendly bar staff and waitresses the owner was lovely he tuck how order made shore we was happy with everything. We will definitely be back again . Thank you for a wonderful afternoon
I love this pub! As do all my family and friends!! And when I was in need of wi-fi for an important meeting, I was able to do my meeting at The Griffin, no questions asked. Always very helpful staff and Sir Jamie is amazing to meet :-) Highly recommend
Another amazing evening at the Griffin Inn. Tapas night, what can I say fantastic food, great service and superb value for money. A lovely mid week treat . Thank you to all the Griffin team.
Visited several times and have never been disappointed with the food. It’s always delicious and served in a lovely environment, in a great location. The only negative is Louise, she’s never friendly to us and makes us feel unwelcome every time. All the other staff are spot on so it’s a shame she always spoils the experience
Stopped off for a pub lunch and a pint. It was a beautiful day so say in the garden. Service was great, fresh sandwiches for lunch with chips, of course, were delicious, the bill, very acceptable. Marvellous, Highly Recommend the Griffin Inn
Lovely meal on our special day , couldn’t have asked for more, staff very helpful and pleasant , highly recommended from us both ….
Great Tapas night on Wednesday, all dishes were well presented and tasted fantastic. Prompt attentive service as usual, well done team.
Used to drink here 40 years ago. A great place then and a great place now. Fantastic beer and service. Came here for a drink after a funeral, the bartender asked if I was okay, as I seemed "deflated". I love the English and their understatement. Thankyou sir.
Really good food, amazing building/grounds and really friendly staff.
Even the owner came to say hello and had a chat with us!
We recently had a very pleasurable visit to The Griffin. The day was kicked off with an amazing, traditional fry up for my husband & delicious poached eggs for me before exploring the beautiful church and charming village. Michael the chef even made incredible hot chocolates for the children - from scratch when we popped back later! The owner, Jamie, was there and very engaging……making sure everyone was ok and sharing the history of Irnham and his family. I couldn’t recommend a visit to this pub more highly - great food & lovely atmosphere……v worthy winners of their ‘Four in a Bed’ hospitality award!
We had lunch here today, and it was excellent. The staff were attentive, Florence was lovely, Jamie and the young lad behind the bar(Sorry, can't remember his name) were excellent hosts, interesting and friendly. The food was faultless, I had the burger which was very tasty and cooked perfectly, with real chips! As for the treacle tart, if you go, you'll know what I mean!! We will return with friends, highly recommended.
Went for a family meal on a busy Friday night and had a lovely time. A very well appointed country inn, with rooms and extremely welcoming staff (especially the owner Jamie). Service was good, if a little busy owing to it being a Friday. The food was excellent, very fresh and clearly made with local produce. Interestingly, it was also very reasonably priced with a good portion size. Overall, a great experience and an establishment i'll certainly be visiting again.
We were at the Griffin for Valentine’s night after seeing the menu in the local magazine, wow it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, service excellent and the lady in charge had everything under control and really looked after us. The Griffin is definitely worth a visit.
It was during lockdown that we visited , James was absolutely marvellous at maintaining distance yet delivering excellent service.
Found by accident looking for a lunch stop. Great find lovely pub with excellent food and service. Met Jamie the famous landlord. Now following on tick tock!!! Highly recommend.
Good food - a cut above standard pub fare and at a similar price point. Absolutely beautiful place too so a potentially nice place for a special meal. The teenage staff were a bit clueless though that’s often the case with country pubs. What I really didn’t get though is why we were treated to a playlist consisting of 90s grunge music. I’m 45 so I like a bit of Nirvana myself but not while eating Sunday lunch…. I could not bring myself to give them five stars for this reason
This place looks gorgeous will have to try it soon
