The owners of starfish are lovely, always trying to make the customers happy with quick and tasty food, staff that work there are all polite, can have a good laugh with them, every time I've been in there I've not had a problem with any off the food never forgotten anything I've ordered and the food is lovely highly recommend people to go and eat at this chip shop best one I've ever been too

I will quite happily walk from one side of the town (where I live) to the other, for my meal, cos no other chip shop gets remotely close to how good Starfish is. :)

Excellent fish and chips! Very courteous and pleasant service and beautiful tasting chips. The fish is goo and there are all manner of other things of offer such as pies, sausages etc. Good prices, decent people and parking outside.
The fish and chips from here have to be the best I have ever had, truely amazing. Huge variety on menu, reasonable prices and generous portions. The staff are good and the owner is brilliant, he really knows his stuff when it comes to frying fish and chips. Every thing including the chips is cooked to order so you will have to wait but it is so worth it to have freshly cooked food. The shop is clean and you can park outside. Fish and chips don't come any better than these.
Absolutely scrumdiddlyumptious!! 😋 Fresh, hot, incredible batter which is still crispy when you get home…. The tastiest fish (cod bites!) and chips I have had in years and superb value for money. Staff are all friendly and incredibly helpful too! Highly recommended!!
My usual order of medium chips and battered sausage, good portion size for a very fair price. Great service provided, happy to visit again and again.

Honestly the best chip shop in ipswich (if anywhere actually and I’ve lived in a lot of places) exceptional customer service and exceptional food, even my youngest ate every last bit which is a very uncommon occurrence for her.
The pie crust was actually flaky and not soggy, the chips had a good mixture of both crispy and fluffy chips and the battered sausages were as crispy as you’d like.

I usually get a fish and chips with battered sausage and curry sauce, always cooked to perfection! Prices very reasonable, highly recommended.
Very pleasant friendly staff. Food cooked to order. Very reasonably priced. Small portion of chips was more than enough for me, and at £1.60, much cheaper than our local chippie whose regular bag of chips is £2.00. Lots to choose from on the menu board. Tasty too.
I had Fish (Haddock) and Chips here when I was visiting Ipswich about two weeks ago. I can highly recommend this place. The chips fish and batter were perfect and I've been to some award-winning places that would struggle to compete. I had medium fish and chips and the portions were more than enough and at a very fair price.
The only downside is I live about an hour and a half away, but next time I'm in Ipswich I know where my first port of call will be.
Lovely small chip shop, with friendly owners and staff. They sell the best tasting chips in the whole of Ipswich hands down! Nice selection of food available and you can phone ahead with your order or even have it delivered (within reason)

The new owners, trained by Wing, are apparently buying their fish from the same source and doubtless trying to emulate the former quality of product that was enjoyed by all but they are new to the business and on a steep learning curve.
I have been there once since the new owners have been in place, so I don't feel qualified to give a fair review.
This is an authentic English fish and chip shop. On every level it hits the desired spot! The quality is fantastic and it's cheap!

This is by far my favourite chip shop out of all the ones I've tried in Ipswich. Chips are done quickly, they are delicious, the portions are generous, and custom is always friendly.
I went there for lunch whilst I was on a course. It was very nice; the rock eel in particular was lovely. I can highly recommend.
I visited this chip shop by chance on Saturday lunch time and must say the chips were amazing, best I have ever had, even better than Aldeburgh fish & chips and was so so clean and sparkly there. The Owner was so friendly and helpful, was a pleasure to visit - will certainly be back for more

Friendly, efficient and everything was cooked freshly. Just short of five stars for the Starfish because there was quite a lot of potato 'bits' in with the chips which were rather greasy - but I'd go back again!
