Very friendly service from the staff, lovely range of local beers including Big Drop Paridiso 0%. Vegan platter and rosemary fries went down a treat. Will definitely be back when the sun is shining.
Visited last week with a group of family for my dad's birthday.
The staff were very welcoming and also very patient, my family can be noisy. The food was great as was the beer selection. Several of us had the haddock and chips, which was fantastic. Beautiful pub, very well designed inside. And the prices were more than fair.
Thanks
Sat in the back garden and ordered from the new outdoor kitchen and shared some tasty halloumi sticks and fried squid before we ordered our mains.
The Carribbean chicken, refreshing slaw, guacamole and yummy sweet potato fries. No grease and all tasted fresh, well seasoned and not heavy at all, good portion.
Nice quiet atmosphere and very friendly staff, all fairly priced and it was nice knowing they had a dehydrator for the fruit rather than it being bought in. Seems like great care is taken for even the small things, will come back.
Stunning Caribbean chicken, great flavour and presentation was first class. Companions had Burgers 🍔 that looked great and told very tasty. Staff very welcoming and attentive. Great decor inside very well looked after. Great selection of beers and lagers. Out side nice tables and chairs. A little round cottage you can rent for a small intimate meal. Grounds also have animals for kids too see. Modern clean toilets. I would highly recommend The Boot. As i said to my wife "BEST MEAL I HAVE HAD OUT FOR AGES"
A lovely pub with decent beers and excellent food. The service was really good too. We were there with dogs and kids and the staff did everything they could to make things work for us. Will definitely go back.
Had a 3 course Sunday lunch and it was amazing from start to finish.
The service was absolutely AMAZING, when I asked for the non alcoholic options I was given a load of options that the lady recalled without having to go and check...Great knowledge !
She was chatty and friendly and nothing was too much trouble, service was quick without being rushed, I wish I had taken the waitress name, she is a credit to the place.
The food was just brilliant, tasted so fresh and you could really tell it was quality ingredients...silly to say but the carrots tasted really carroty and the parsnips so parsnipy !! Haha
The roast dinners are a really good portion size and well worth the price. Belly pork was cooked to perfection, succulent meat and crispy crackling. The beef was rare, melted in your mouth and full of flavour.
The dessert was just as brilliant, sticky toffee pudding and the waitress was not thrown when my friend asked for pouring cream as well as ice cream with her dessert...nothing was a problem.
Absolutely brilliant place, only negative thing is its not in my village where I live !! Haha I just need to move to Freston !!
I went to this place for Mothers Day .
Fantastic time i had .
The food was excellent , as was the service and staff were lovely . The main guy who may have been the owner couldn't do enough to help .
It was lovely there and the place felt so comfortable, with a welcoming feel .
Don't forget to phone and book as the place is always busy which is not surprising.
You won't be disappointed.

I photographed a wedding here over the summer and absolutely loved the relaxed festival vibe. A tipi wedding was particularly welcome on one of the hottest days of the year. The food was honestly absolutely stunning and the staff were really dedicated. Brilliant choice for a Suffolk tipi / festival wedding.
Amazing food. Nice and cozy place to dine in to.
I was able to book the private use of the Roundhouse, for a family meal for my husband's 60th birthday. From when I very first enquired, the staff were amazing. Special thanks to Ellie who organised everything, and arranged to have decorations put up for us. She was really lovely, showing myself and daughter around on the day before. On the day the Roundhouse looked lovely. We had 2 waitresses looking after all our needs and all the meals were fabulous. After we had eaten we were able to take the grandchildren to see all the animals on the farm there as well. Many, many thanks to all at the Freston Boot for making the day so special, it was perfect.
Really friendly pub/restaurant. Excellent service, the dogs received treats and water whilst we scanned the menu. They even have a menu for dogs. I chose fish and chips, which were superb; crisp batter outside and perfectly cooked fish within, very hard to find that sort of perfection, lerge portion size too. Very good selection of drinks. Nice setting, outside seating for the summer. Eclectic collection of structures outside, including amongst others, a teepee, yurt, etc. Good size car park. We didn't have to reserve a table at that time, but I believe it would be well patronised at more popular times. A thoroughly enjoyable time was had and we would wholeheartedly recommend The Boot.
First time here... Was very impressed. Food was lovely and service with a smile. Can't wait to come back.
Me and my partner were down visiting so we decided to a wonderful lunch date with our friends at the Boot, the food was excellent and presented very well, we had Lamb Coftas with Tzatziki, Mint sauce on a bed of Salad and fresh Olives with Hummus, Bread and Balsamic Vinegar, for mains we had Fish and Chips which was really fresh and a side of Peas and Carribbean Chicken thighs with a side of crispy Sweet Potato fries. We were seated outside in a tepee tent with a nice wood fire in the middle, the atmosphere was nice and the Covid setup was spot on and not to inconvenient. I would highly recommend and in the area or passing through to stop and have some food at The Boot 👍
Was very dog friendly, great seating outside. Service was very good and food was excellent had the Mac and cheese and the meringue thing, fish and chips and boot burger! (Not all by my self 😂)
Food was pricey but worth the money - empty plates all round. Felt quite crammed in but it was a busy Saturday lunchtime. Service was okay, not the quickest but again it was a Saturday lunchtime so understandable. Menu is quite limited but definitely worth the trip if you like the look of the menu.
This was some of the most creative and beautiful tasting food I’ve had. We were also very pleasantly surprised to be able to order Sancerre by the glass. I highly recommend coming slightly off the beaten track to come here. We will definitely be coming back the next time we are down this way.
First visit to this venue, predominantly a restaurant with lots of outdoor seating (which wasn’t helpful on a cold blustery day) with a very small welcoming bar area, two stalls and one chair.
First impressions were, understaffed chaos, lots of empty glasses on the bar, and generally very untidy.
However I am pleased to report that there was a good selection of beers, even though very pricey drafts were £6.80 a pint !
Decent Malbec for £25 a bottle.
The food was pretty good without being exceptional, the cauliflower cheese added as a extra to accompany the Sunday Roast was very disappointing, staff were helpful, a solid 4 out of 5, very busy and obviously popular.
