Skipped a starter as I wanted to leave room for desert!
I had a Grill for my main and it was exquisite. I asked for my steak medium rare and that’s just what I got. It was pink, succulent, tender and melted in my mouth. It’s flavour was just unbelievably good. Chicken wings came with the meal as did a half rack of BBQ ribs which complimented my meal perfectly. The wings were dry and crispy and lightly spiced so they weren’t unbearably hot and the pork came away from the ribs with ease. On the side I had chunky chips, corn on the cob and battered onion rings. Yes, I did go to town with the added options but I was having an early dinner to set myself up for an evening of flowing alcohol. To follow I had the Chocolate Brownie Knickerbocker Glory which was fantastic! A generous portion of chocolate and vanilla ice cream was mixed with a moorish chocolate brownie, covered in chocolate sauce and a generous helping of cream, served in a unique glass handled mug. The bespoke decor inside the restaurant was obviously not built on a budget and provided the room with character and ambience. There’s nothing worse than looking around at blank walls whilst conversing at the dining table with your fellow guests so it was lovely to be able to discuss the fine detail that surrounded us. The low ceiling lights provided an ideal spotlight on our food so we could see exactly what was being served up by the efficient staff who were both very attentive and cheerful. They really made our evening complete and enjoyable. One thing I did really appreciate was the provision of a steak knife that would have made Crocodile Dundee proud. It was near on the size of a sheath knife and cut through my steak effortlessly! It was my first visit The Forge and certainly won’t be my last! Thanks for a lovely evening!
We went to the Forge for breakfast this morning after I had seen they had introduced a breakfast menu in the Ipswich Star recently. We're always on the lookout for a good breakfast spot and we have definitely found our new favourite! The place has been done out beautifully and the owners have definitely paid attention to detail. The food and service were excellent and at reasonable prices. We peeked at the drinks and dinner menu and can't wait to try more of what this place has to offer!
Amazing place! Wonderful food and concept. You get a main and pick your sides! The customisation of your meal is so unique and the food is top notch. Rustic, tasty and well priced. I urge you to give it a go!
Not this first review I have written for this place, and no secrets its one of my favourites. Took mum there today for an early Mother's Day meal as I had been raving about it since opening. She was most impressed with the decor, the staff and most importantly the food. Thank you very much Grant and Robyn for making us most welcome today.
just had my daughter's wedding breakfast at the Forge.... AMAZING.... food, service, staff all spot on. Again I must mention the food..... just superb. I beleive this was the first wedding breakfast they have done..... well, if this was their first attemp, how good are they....
Decided to give it a try for breakfast on Saturday as have seen pictures in here and wanted to see if the hype was worth it?
IT SO WAS!!
Best breakfast we have had in a very long time. Just delicious, will be going back for sure to try other menus and will definitely be coming back for breakfast.

I love this place, second time on visiting. Yesterday my husband arranged a surprise visit for my 40th birthday. There were about 45 of us ranging in age from 3 years to 83 years. The staff couldn't have been kinder (magic tricks at the bar for the kids by the very talented bar staff), the food come out promptly and was exactly what everyone had pre ordered. Hate to see so many negative reviews on Facebook about this place. This is a family run business, reviews hurt businesses. If you had a gripe about the something being greasy or something not being cooked properly, tell them not Facebook! Providing a discount off bills is a wonderful example of how they do care about their reputation. I bet the chain restaurants don't care about customer service anywhere near as much! Well done guys, doing a great job and deserve every bit of success!
The setting is the best about, the service was 10/10 and the food was knockout.
The price we paid for the breakfast and all else that we received has guaranteed that we’ll be back again....and again, no doubt.
Went for a meal yesterday and impressed. The food was very good and as described but what impressed us was how they dealt with a small issue. Main courses were a little delayed, only 10 mins or so, we were informed straight away, apologies made and concessions on the bill/desserts made. We all make mistakes and errors are made, its how you deal with them. Will definitely go back.
Would have given 5* if more choice of draft beer were available. A decent IPA on draft would be good.
Great steam punk architecture and decor. Food was good but all burgers were listed as being served with American Cheese which was disappointing Service was good.
Staff couldn't do enough for us. Had a sharer with my husband. Good sized portions of excellent tender meats with a real smokey tang. Highly recommend
Lovely location, exceptionally clean,
friendly team specially Ms Eve, this restaurant serves wonderfully prepared burgers made with fresh ingredients. The onion rings are particularly outstanding. I highly recommend this place; it's one of the best Burger in the UK!
The forge kitchen is a modern bar/restaurant with a really quirky and unique aesthetic. It has a nearly steampunk/industrial vibe and the food is really solid.
I was here for a work event and so couldn't look through the whole menu but what I did have was delicious.
The Vegan Big Jack was really tasty. The burger was cooked extremely well and the garnish was well portioned. Overall a really good burger! The skin on fries were also very tasty. It would be good to see a wider variety of different plant-based meals considering how good this one was.
The service was particularly good, with staff consistently making sure my colleagues and I were well looked after. I would definitely advise visiting this restaurant, especially given how well they handled such a large party of people.
Just had possibly the best burger ever as part of their "bun & rum" promotion. Double smash patties, bacon, cheese, and a ruddy pancake covered in maple syrup in the middle... For £10!
As a side note, I'd highly recommend adding this to the main menu. It was amazing.
If I could give to a staff member especially Brandon 10 stars I would! My husband and I came all the way from Norfolk to visit the forge kitchen and we were lucky to sit next to the bar. These guys were amazing, but I can't recommend Brandon enough! The hard working great sense of humour and drinks were beyond delicious. He is your little gem! Food, tapas and steak best ever! :)
Visited on Saturday 18th for my birthday meal. Booked online arrived at 18:00, I loved the Decor. They staff were friendly and attentive. I had "The Stoker" sharing board and my partner had a steak. All was cooked to perfection. The cocktails was very nice but small for the price.
This place was super lovely. Went for a late lunch/early dinner for my birthday with my husband, and we were welcomed straight away and handed a glass of bubbly...winner! The staff were very attentive and accomdating. We ordered the Chateaubriand, which serves 2 people. Wow, it was cooked just how we liked it (medium rare), and it just melted in your mouth. The atmosphere was ok, quiet, but we put it down to the time we went and the day (NYE). However, this wouldn't stop us from returning and enjoying the food and company again.

Always our go-to spot for special occasions or a fancy breakfast. We got married recently and also celebrated my birthday so we went to The Forge for lunch. We were given a complementary glass of fizz. Food was spot on as always and they were more than happy to double check things for me due to dietary requirements.
