Beautiful Castle in a beautiful setting, very interesting history and the staff are very engaging, taking time to tell relevant stories and very good with children, grounds and walks are beautiful, the pond is worth walking to in the summer to see dragonflies and damselflies and other wildlife, we have been many times and no doubt will visit many more times

This is definitely a place to see. Absolutely beautiful. We have been going to the events for kids to get our daughter use to it, she is disabled but not comfortable around big crowds, loud noises and new places. ( stairs and closed in or small places upset her).So we signed up for the national trust pass and went inside the castle. First off the woman at the desk was very helpful after we explained our situation and radioed the guides to make them aware. All of them were very helpful and willing to let us go at an easy pace. They are very engaging with us and our son as well. Wonderful family experience. Thank you all

I'm very lucky living only 2 miles away. This gives me the opportunity to visit as often as I like and enjoy all the fantastic events that are put on throughout the year.

Original castle dates back to the 1300s. Added to in several different directions and eras. Lots of tiny rooms off a steep spiral staircase and a feeling of how the family lived. About a 100 years since owned by the lairds. Stunning situation, wonderful walled garden, great dog walking, toilets tearoom and gift shop Recommended

Great staff in the castle to share stories and information, infact all the staff we met where great. Great coffee and fantastic selection of cakes. Will be visiting here again.

Beautiful grounds and a nice Café. We take our dogs there frequently and they love it. They also host great events, and is ideal for meeting up with other dog owners.

Gorgeous fairytale castle tucked away in the rolling hills and forests of Eastern Scotland. Colorful history, winding staircases and secret passages, and expansive gardens and trails to explore.

The semi self guided tour of the Castle was great, lots of interesting things to see and you also get up on the roof aswell, great views. The NTS people in some of the rooms are very nice and knowledgeable. The walled garden is lovely and the 2 well signposted walks are super. It's a great place for a days visit and picnic if it's a nice day.

Lovely Castle and grounds. Two walks around the expansive grounds which will satisfy any dog walk. The car park is pay and display but the ticket machine only takes coins. This will be updated in the future to a card machine but in the meantime bring your pennies. (£3) Will revist in the future once the Castle is fully open for tours.
