Meeks Burger take over night - awesome! Even on a hectic busy burger night, staff were attentive and kind, taking time as if we were the only customers in the place! Fennel is my 9 year olds favourite place, and the welcome is always warm and friendly , with service being flawlessly smooth - even having a special request dish available for my weeman! From arrival to departure, it was perfect. Food came out beautifully presented, piping hot and in good time. As weeman said in the comment card - awesome, spectacular and fish-tastic! Was recommend Fennel by a good friend Jemma. I could not fault anything, the food was amazing. We had the soup for starter, i was not sure if i would like it but it was a lovely soup. Main we had fillet steak and was cooked to perfection and extremely filling. We did not have dessert, the selection looked yummy wish i could fit one in. There was lovely selection of drinks.
My hubby and I felt very relax and didn't feel we need to rushed like some places I have been in. The staff was so lovely and welcoming.
I would highly recommend , this come our favourite place and will be back ���

The Cullen Skink was the best I ever tasted, never been so disappointed to finish a bowl of soup in my life.
The main course was Lamb Bunny Chow, chips and fresh salad , a South African curry served in a bread bowl with sweet potato fries, not something I had tried before but I would certainly have it again.
With all being so good I could not resist a desert, ordering a rice pudding with apples,cinnamon and blueberry Ice-cream, I was not disappointed

We enjoyed an incredible vegan lunch this afternoon. We shared the crunchy vegetable rolls with peanut sauce, which were delicious! They were filled with rainbow veggies in a very light and crispy roll. I had the slow cooked five bean chilli with basmati rice and my husband had the curried lentil and chickpea burger with all the trimmings. We were too greedy to share pudding so we both had the vegan peanut butter cheesecake with bourbon caramel sauce. Absolutely incredible, a huge improvement to the last time we visited (years ago). They were baby friendly too, which made things easy for us. Highly recommend!

As a vegan it’s hard to find meals other than the normal options. This is the best vegan meal I have ever had! Can’t wait to try the other options!
From entering fennel to leaving we were welcomed by all staff , they were all friendly and very accommodating, they are a credit to your business . The fillet steak was 1st class and the Orkney fudge cheesecake with salted caramel ice cream was amazing . We will definitely return and would highly recommend to all our friends .
Dropped in for the first time for an impulse late lunch yesterday. Lovely meal, good service, nothing not to like. The sharing platter starter especially was outstanding. We'll be back

First time in for a meal (not often child free haha) and omg best steak myself and my partner have ever had the Dianne sauce was just superb and plenty of it most places you barely get any! Staff were so lovely,great atmosphere will be defo be back!

Was in on Friday night for dinner with my wife. We both opted for the King Scallop starter and both agreed it was the best scallops we’d ever tasted, knife glided through it and taste was amazing.
Main courses and desserts equally as good.

We made a reservation here base on number of good reviews and came here for dinner. The place was fairly full in middle of the week. Great selection food with also a daily special which was chicken with vegetables. We ordered the fish and chips which was absolutely fantastic and huge! Their chicken vegetables was delicious but probably 1/3 of the fish dish and a small portion and not really filling. Staff were nice and respectful and the restaurant had a great vibe to it.
Stopped in past 29/10/23, was greeted at the door very polite staff. Ambient atmosphere lovely very homely. Food was amazing service very quick 💯. Highly recommend if your in the area phone and book to avoid disappointment ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We went to the Fennel on Saturday night. I had the sea bass filets and crab risotto it was amazing! My husband and friend had the fish, and my other friend had the duck breast. The food was very good, presented beautifully. The staff were attentive and helpful. It was so good, in fact. I went back for lunch! They have a menu to suit any budget.
Highly recommend. I'd also urge you to book for peak times to avoid disappointment.
A really lovely place and well worth a visit. Very nice ambience, lovely decor and extremely friendly, helpful staff. For once the music was sufficiently subtle enough so that conversation was clearly audible, even to my rather deaf parents.
Varied and interesting menu. Most dishes were thoroughly enjoyed, one or two less successful within our party of 6. Would definitely recommend and return.
We had a meal on Friday evening and the food was delicious, couldn't fault the quality. My granda is 89 and was more than happy with his choices from the extensive menu, I had chicken wings starter and rib eye steak main and they were perfect. Service was slightly slow but we don't mind that when the quality was superb. The atmosphere is good but downstairs can be noisy with the cocktail making from the bar, but again we didn't mind as overall it wad an excellent experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend

Popped in for lunch with my hubby and we both loved food! I had cullen skink soup and pulled chicken burger and my husband enjoyed his rib-eye steak. All very tasty 😋 Highly recommend 👌
Very friendly service. We loved the cocktails and the lunch was just delicious.
The kids enjoyed the milkshake and the kids menu is really good, just the right size.
We booked a table (which probably wasn't neccessary), for brunch at the weekend. The boozy brunch if you're not driving seems a great option, two delicious cocktails and a full breakfast for £20 was a good way to spend a morning. Nice atmosphere and staff. We'll definitely be back.
Brilliant restaurant for a family reunion - the delicious, fresh, outstanding food was only surpassed by the service and attention to detail by the friendly, professional staff!

We were given an entire floor of the restaurant to socialise and enjoy much needed family time.
The Fennel restaurant deserves a full 5* and I look forward to going there again
Good service and comfortable seating with classy ambience.
Food was tasty and excellently cooked - the steak was perfectly cooked at medium rare and vegetables perfect also. Couldn't fault quality, taste, cooking and presentation. If I had to comment on anything, the steaks were quite expensive at around 28 quid, but they were aged and tasty.
Starters - Scallops were well seared and perfectly cooked and the mussels in a tasty broth.
I would visit again and recommend it highly.

We were a table of 4 having lunch and everyone was delighted with their choices. I had the croque madame with a side of wonderful onion rings and it was delicious, easily the best croque madame I've had. Big thumbs up too for the chicken club sandwich, pork fillet dish and the haddock goujons. Service was excellent too!

Absolutely delighted with the meals served to our (very large) party this evening. The food was excellent throughout, with everyone delighted by their meal. The service was welcoming and friendly, prompt and helpful. I couldn't have been more pleased. Given the size of the party we had pre-ordered, but they coped well with a couple of late alterations and served all of the mains in a pretty short space of time, so no one was left waiting while everyone else ate. Thank you for a great night.
Great place to visit! Very accommodating for all dietary requirements whether thats gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian or vegan, they have something for everyone. Everything you can see in my pictures were gluten free and delicious. I'd say the dessert section is the only bit lacking in gf options but there is creme brulee or posset. The waitress was super understanding and helpful in regards to my dietary requirements. My granny has mobility issues so they ensured us a down stairs table which was perfect!
2nd time here and it has become a place where, when I'm in the country, I need to stop and have a meal.
From the Cullen Skink to their steaks with peppercorn sauce, you just can't go wrong.
