Lovely to revisit The Old Forge 10 years on from the last time I was here. Recently refurbished to a high standard. We timed our visit perfectly with food available for the first time since the community buy-out. Excellent fish and chips, good beer selection and great service.
Great place, it's been done up so well. Nice microbrewery offerings on tap. No food on at time of visit.
A wee gem of a place. Great views, fab beer and food, plus friendly helpful staff. A great vibe, will defo be back as would love to experience the live music next time. Thank you!
We popped in for drinks and met Fiona, one of the lovely bar staff. She explained to us how the pub had only opened up earlier in the week and it is now owned by the community. Everything was newly equipped, painted and decorated, with the fanciest toilets I visited in Scotland! The kitchen wasn't
We just had a day trip out on the Ferry. Stopped in at the pub. Staff were great. Kitchen didn't open until 5.30 and we were on the 6.30 ferry back. No problem in getting that sorted for us.
Stayed in Inverie for two nights after hiking in from Fort William over 3 days. The Old Forge was a welcome sight after camping food. Would highly recommend the venison stew. Staff were friendly and helpful, great selection of drinks, and had a folk session of excellent musicians on Saturday 3-6pm.
Almost sad we missed the psycho landlord but good to see it in community hands. We arrived by boat in fantastic weather which continued into the night. Beer excellent. It is still being renovated in part but was buzzing and looking good. Good luck for the future.
We had a fantastic day on Knoydart. Visited on a Monday, when the Old Forge doesn't do food. Beer was lovely and great atmosphere in there, with locals and visitors .
Figured it was worth a visit now that it's a community owned pub, given all the stories about the old landlord. Definitely worth the long walk over from Glenfinnan. Lovely friendly locals, good selection of beers, reasonable prices, what more could you want. As stated there's no food for the rest of
Interesting pub. Nevertheless i have never been here, just found a printed message about you in a local paper in Lithuania. Cheers from Kaunas :)
Delightful place to stay. Warm welcome and food all home cooked, some home grown too and perfectly delicious. Recommend Garden Breakfast and scallops particularly..Fab view of Ben Nevis, delightful garden with small burn running through and such helpful owners and staff. We wish we could have stayed
One of the most memorable pubs I've ever visited. The fact that it's so difficult to get to makes the pints taste even better. Grab a pint of the Remoteness IPA (not too hoppy at all) and sip it outside while you watch the water and chat to locals and backpackers. Hope to make it back!
The best holiday ever, great beer ,great food and fantastic live music. Outstanding! ☺️
Visited The Old Forge 6,7 and 8 july 2018 and slept in The Old Byre Lodge, a lovely clean place owned by JP.
We where there for the weekend with the guys, beer absolutly fine and also the wines and whiskey's. We tasted enough I can tell. Also the food was splendid, compliments for chef Eddy.
