Words can't explain how good the food was here! I had the Cullen Skink for my first time ever and was honestly expecting to hate it. It was so good I almost ordered a second bowl. The Scottish bread pudding was outstanding also. The waiter was phenomenal and one of the kindest men we have ever met. Our only regret is we didn't book to stay here also.

Traveling with my family we have found it difficult to find a restaurant in the area that can satisfy our palettes. Thank goodness we stumbled across Emily's Byre. One of the most charming establishments we have ever visited, the only thing more impressive than the numerous types of food choices available, we're the rich flavors we enjoyed, each cooked to perfection and accompanied by a truly outstanding level of service. I had the Scottish Stew (Scottish), my wife and our youngest son had hamburgers with fries (American), and my eldest son enjoyed an Chicken Biryani (Indian). My stew was extremely flavorful and well-balanced and the beef exceptional tender.
Each dish was cooked to order. No next day reheating of items here, as no items were dry or over-cooked. Not only was the Chicken Biryani and Scottish Stew outstanding, but even the burgers were exceptional. I savored a fine Scottish Scotch Whiskey following my outstanding stew. I cannot recommend Emily's Byre enough. It is rare that I am so pleased, but even more so when my family agrees. I strongly recommend Emily's Byre for anyone in the area!
Fantastic Indian food! The veggie biryani was really good. The chicken appetizer was beautifully displayed and really good too. It is also a quaint BnB too.
I rarely leave a review. We turned up on a Friday evening at 7pm without phoning ahead. We expected to be turned away, understandably. Restaurant was full and therefore busy. We gingerly asked for a takeaway. Happy to do that for us. Nothing was too much trouble, service was above and beyond. I have weird dietary issues and was in no way made to feel strange about it. Dealt with exceptionally well. Very kind, thoughtful service and excellent food. Had my 90yr old Uncle with us once the gentleman knew this, we didn't make a fuss, he made him feel so welcomed and thought of. Thank you so much for a great experience and your kindness. Highly recommend and advise booking ahead.
Found this place out of the blue. And what a lovely time we had. Authetic Indian food, Indian hospitality. Unlike other places which are named Indian but have other origins.
No doubt we will revisit. Highly recommended if you are looking for quality food and autheticity.
We had Chef special pf the day Chciken Jalfrezi, Salmon tandoori and Dal Makhani.
The best food we have had this trip. Got some Pudina Chicken Tikka and some Dal Makhni with Garlic naan.

Had our first honeymoon dinner here last night, and it was wonderful! We have our dog with us, and they served her indoors, giving her water and a sausage immediately upon arrival. There is even a designated enclosure outside for dogs. The food was the best Indian cuisine I've ever had. We got the lentil bites, samosas, and vegetable curry. All the staff were so friendly. A pretty field of flowers and sheep is just across the street. What a lovely place!
Delicious combination of Scottish and Indian cuisine in a traditional Highland setting with welcoming staff. Also dog friendly - they gave my wee staffy some water and sausage which made him very happy. Will definitely be telling my friends and family about this one!
We didn't have reservations but they seated us right away. The menu was extremely diverse, so everyone found something they liked. I tried Kedgeree for the first time and it was delicious. The portions were really generous. The cost of the water was a little exorbitant--they offered other tables tap water but only offered us still or sparkling. Overall a good meal!
