Mary and her team have taken it back more to what it used to be like years ago, a proper cosy tearoom. They have a short menu but everything on it is gorgeous and the only decision is what to not have! Coffee is delicious (and I am a very fussy coffee drinker) and the cakes are to die for. Don't go expecting a bistro or expensive restaurant type of experience but go expecting lovely fresh food, beautifully cooked and served with good cheer. Will definitely be a regular.
Just been to Kailzie Garden café for lunch it was superb we had fish and hand cut chips with homemade tartar sauce it was sublime! Then a slice of gingerbread and butter also white chocolate and orange cake it was just lovely I highly recommend comming here you won't be disappointed but do reserve a table as it does get very busy we will be back soon Mary and Finn!!
We had the most delicious lunch at the Garden Cafe last week, the caramelised onion quiche was so very good (hard to decide which quiche to choose!) and the salads were delicious, figs in the coleslaw and a yummy brussel sprout one. Cakes are absolute heaven especially the carrot cake, the others ate a mega chocolate cake and flapjacks with a hint of apple - incredibly tasty. Will be back but not soon enough. Well done to Mary, this place is just a diamond.
An excellent lunch. Made a special effort to ensure that there was a gluten free choice for me. Very friendly and relaxing atmosphere. We will certainly be back.
Just had THE most delicious scone EVER. Accompanied by exquisite coffee. Well worth a visit. The gardens ain't too bad either 👍🏼
Great sandwitches And cakes highly recommended
Beautiful setting, adorable staff, but above all, a menu which makes you want to eat EVERYTHING on it!!!
Brilliant Xmas lunch, couldn't have been better, thank you very much!
The Garden Cafe was the perfect venue for our painting class!

Delicious and a must visit if in the area!
Had coffee and a date slice there yesterday morning, really good.
Fabulous tasty Halloween treats this weekend. YUMMY.
Took the kids and had a great lunch before heading to see house and visit play area. Staff are fantastic, friendly and helpful and the food was top. Kids loved their hungry bear boxes and the chat about the bears at Traquair. My steak pie was excellent. Wife loved her carrot cake and the ice cream is nicest I've had in years. Will be back.
I love the atmosphere of this charming cafe. They do THE MOST delicious cullen skink in the world, and their gluten free carrot cake is the best I've tasted. A wonderful bonus to a day out visiting Traqaire House. I'll definitely go again.
Excellent place for lunch or a snack. Thoroughly enjoyed the mushroom soup and pulled pork toastie. Latte good today. Friendly efficient service too and good value for money.
