Decided to go for a meal here on Thursday after looking at reviews on Google. It's a nice modern venue with some old pictures of the local area dotted around with nice decor & very clean .We had popped in earlier to check what time food was served till & came back after an hour in the local arcades. As was the case when we checked in earlier we were greeted in a cheerful & professional manner by the staff who were very welcoming.There seems a decent choice on the menu & we decided on the burger which was described as a steak burger this came with a choice of chips or jacket potato & came with salad onion rings & coleslaw. We choose chips & were all surprised with the portion sizes & quality of the food. The burger lived up to the description & tasted like a quality burger with a nice meaty taste & light seasoning which came in a nice soft brioche bun. The chips were lovely, crunchy on the outside & fluffy on the inside & the onion rings were a good size with a nice crispy batter. It came with a nice fresh salad & a little pot of coleslaw which was just the right size to accompany the meal. Being low season it wasn't packed that said there were still a few people in but this meant we didn't have to wait to long for our food. Three meals & a round of drinks for the three of us just under £45 can't fault it & will definitely come in again next time we're down this way.

Lovely and clean, the Sunday carvery was absolutely delicious! After reading reviews, we decided to give it a go. Will definitely return when we are in the area again. The beef was cooked perfectly. Huge portions too.

We visited Woody's both Friday & Saturday!! The food was absolutely delicious & is honestly some of the best food we have ever eaten!! Hats off to the kitchen staff!!

Lovely Carvery! A choice of Beef, Gammon, Turkey, steak and ale pie or Lincolnshire Sausage. There is also a vegetarian sausage or pie option. I had a regular sized portion at £9.95 and chose turkey and pie!! Which were both delicious! You can choose 1 type of meat or slice of 2 on a regular sized plate and this includes the pie (which I was surprised about!). You are also asked if you would like a Yorkshire pudding and a small Lincolnshire Sausage (I had both)....this is all before you get to the veg, potatoes and stuffing! There was plenty of veg to choose from too! Cauliflower cheese was lovely and cheesy, honey roasted parsnips were amazing! Mashed, roasted and new potatoes were all available and unlike many other carvery's you can help yourself to stuffing. The gravy was meaty and delicious. It's really difficult to say anything bad about this carvery but if I had to it would be that the roast beef was overcooked for my liking (I am sure it was fine for others including my husband who had no complaints about it being on the well done side), the small Sausage offered was a little dry (still tasty) and the yorkies were of the frozen variety. There are take away cartons out to help yourself too if you find your eyes are bigger than your belly! I did see people abusing this though as they were piling their plates with enough food for 2 people and off loading half of it into a takeaway container as soon as they sat down to take home. I advise you get there early on a Sunday as the queues can be quite long and you may have to wait a little while (well worth it!). We will definitely be back here on our next visit to the area! The bar restaurant is spacious. The staff friendly. The food is good. Plenty of parking around the back. Good for families.

Lovely food stayed for Sunday tea were a lovely surprise minted lamb shank .

Quiet night tonight ready foe the mayhem tomorrow....food was outstanding, didn't expect this quality down here, we were pleasantly surprised. Definitely will be back Quality food and attentive staff. Very nice bar.

We've heard so many people compliment the carvery at Woodys we just had to go,got there 10 mins before opening and joined the people already waiting. On entry we got a drink from the bar and paid for 2 medium carvery meals found a table and went to collect our meals and it was lovely, well worth what we paid and served in a friendly manner. Its just a pity that some people turn into such greedy animals at a carvery and load their plates so full they can't eat it all or worse still, ask for a container to take home food for another day, come on give up the greed.
