I took my mum here for an early Mother’s Day treat (Dad came too) the venue is just lovely and the staff were all friendly, polite, funny and more than happy to help.... the afternoon tea was delicious, with lots of choices of sandwiches and cakes, all very yummy!! Love the teapots, endless amounts of tea.. we could have sat there for hours!!! Will definitely be coming back. My Dad had bubble and squeak... he sent his compliments to the chef because it was the best ever!!!!
my sister and I treated our mum for afternoon tea and we could not fault it! the selection of sandwiches and cakes were great and the cheese scones were to die for! such a great coffee shop in beautiful surroundings, we’ll be back for breakfast soon : ) x
First visit but will definitely be back! The eggs florentine were possibly the best I have ever had- my husbands chicken, avocado & bacon sandwich had a whole chicken breast in it! Friendly staff & wonderful surroundings throughly recommended!
What lovely find this place is. Fresh and delicious food with friendly staff. Would definitely come again. Love a place that allows dogs to come along too - perfect!
Amazing breakfast, great choice and fantastic drinks. Dog and child friendly, lovely staff. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend.
Fantastic little place, food wonderful, staff friendly service spot on. Can highly recommend.
An excellent place for breakfast or lunch. Both the food and the (locally roasted) coffee were first class. Immaculately clean, the restaurant has friendly and welcoming staff who are quietly efficient. The downstairs is wheelchair friendly with very well planned accessible toilet. A local business that thoroughly deserves to thrive.
Excellent service, food, coffee and place in lovely village setting... Delicious vegan porridge
What a hidden gem!Beautiful afternoon tea, friendly/welcoming staff and a relaxed atmosphere...we will definitely be returning soon xx
Was taken to this place today by a friend. Got myself a lovely cup of tea and an absolutely fabulous eggs benedict. I didn't think it would be quite enough when it came on the plate, but it was so lovely and filling it was just right. The quality of what I was eating and the way it was made and presented showed great effort. Atmosphere lovely clean fresh bright and airy. Service was very friendly and polite. Can't really fault anything about this place. Top marks from me. will definitely be going there again and would also advise anyone to try it. beautiful, loved it.
Wonderful fresh afternoon tea , fabulous choices to eat and beautifully presented . The staff were very attentive and friendly , we didn’t feel rushed and we all felt we wanted to return soon . No hesitation in recommending ,
Would highly recommend.
A good selection of sweet and savoury dishes, including vegetarian options.
Some nice items in the shop as well.
Seating upstairs as well as on the ground floor when you go in.
Really friendly staff.
We booked afternoon tea for mother's day and it did not disappoint! Every aspect was absolutely delicious, having a vegetarian person included was no problem at all, and the cafe itself was beautiful.
Went to this place on a whim on holiday to the Moors, and it was so good it turned from an impromptu visit to making sure we went back on our last day! If we were local we'd keep coming back for sure, and if we end up this way again we'll be returning. Super cosy retreat, hopefully we'll be back one day!

A very welcoming little cafe expecially if you have a dog [rather than a 'Hall of Fane of people' they have a 'Howl of Fame of dog pictures.'
This place is immaculate, so clean with the kitchen on show.
Very comfortable chairs and good size table. You don't feel too close.
We only had a cheese scone with an Americano, plus a diet coke & a piece of Trillionaire shortbread , with dark chocolate.
We watched dishes leaving the kitchen and they looked delicious. We will be back to sample the food.
The waiting staff were attentive. Drinks were served promptly, followed very quickly by our scone & cake.
There is extra seating upstairs, which we didn't view.
A number of walkers were using the cafe. The cafe asks you to slip on blue plastic shoe covers to help keep the premises clean, not too much to ask. ❤️
Superb friendly service, excellent food, and just a 👌 atmosphere 😌. The food really is as good as all the pictures and of a very healthy portion. Well worth a detour small or large.
Excellent food, I know I only had the granola but it was delicious and the ingredients were fresh and tasty. I sat and watched the chef at the open pass. She looked like care and love went into each plate and I wish I could have stayed for lunch. I had a chat with her and the waiter. Also the coffee was the best I had all week. Recommend this place for sure. Also the cakes looked delicious and there were gluten free options too.
Cookie and cream cake was nice; sandwiches were nice but nothing out of the ordinary. Great location though if you’re looking for something to eat/drink along the motorway in a cute, homey setting. The food is kind of overpriced.
We made a slight detour on our drive to stop here for breakfast/brunch and we were very happy that we did. Friendly and efficient staff, fantastic food & coffee and importantly for us they are dog friendly!
I recommend ‘The old cross’.
Definitely worth a visit.
Another lovely lunch at The Joiner's Shop today. Spring has definitely sprung and we were welcomed with a lovely Daff on the table. The food and service were superb, as always.
Popped in on Saturday morning, a great friendly welcome, menu is great except if you can’t eat egg, very limited, I had beans on toast which was great, cakes we took home were fabulous. Atmosphere and service five star. So my only advice add something for non egg eaters.
