The best roast beef dinner ever , my partner had pan fried Lambs liver equally as nice as my roast and don't normally have a pudding but we did and they didn't disappoint , staff very friendly great place
Our first visit...lovely place full of young energetic staff eager to please and courteous..food fresh beautifully cooked and value for money....wine cheaper than average too so full marks....😊.

Our first visit during the Ilkley Jazz Festival, Saturday night and Sunday lunch and we thought it a great place. Loved the decor inside and the well thought out outside space, (wonderful for a sunny day). Great service, the barmen were working like a train (loved the attire, white shirts and checked braces). We ate and our dishes were excellent and all else coming from the kitchen looked good too. The manager was totally on the ball, so good to see during this very busy period. Both the young set looking like they were really having a great time, and us older folk attending the jazz event shared the space on Saturday evening and the place was packed on Sunday. We'll definitely be back!
Lovely meal last night for my birthday - breaded brie, followed by belly pork was delish definitely recommend and cant wait to be there on weds 22nd Feb when im doing a presentation, open to all, on my channel swim :)

Our very first visit yesterday, what a lovely place. The sandwiches we ordered hit the spot and the staff were super friendly and very accommodating with our 7 month old son and friends dog.
Next time we visit Ilkley, we will be having lunch here �
The celebrations for Tour de Yorkshire yesterday were fabulous! We are so lucky to live in such a wonderful place like Ilkley, and very fortunate to have amazing local businesses like you and all the pop up food stalls, to come together and give us a brilliant event that we all thoroughly enjoyed! Well done to all the staff at The Black Hat for all working so hard and they still kept smiling! Looking forward to the next one �x
Emma and Terry looked after us so well, including our wee dog Chris. Came away for a family weekend and they let us use the bar as a space to open belated Christmas presents on Saturday morning. Clean, comfy rooms, great shower. The rooms are above the pub, so don't expect it to be super quiet until after closing time but we had a couple of great nights' sleep, enjoyed the quality breakfasts and will stay again soon! Thanks Emma and Terry for you hospitality!
Called here on a visit to Ilkley at Lunchtime. It was a Saturday and the day of a big Rugby match. The gentleman that I believe was the Landlord was very helpful. He noticed us coming in with our son in a pushchair and helped and then interacted with him. He seemed like a lovely guy. Good food. Nothing amazing but good pub food. Drinks good. Nice atmosphere- what’s not to like? I’d come back if I was in the area.
Cracking beer garden with all mod cons - TV, Booths etc. Great selection of beers and service to boot. Didnt eat but food orders were busy

Stayed for one night before doing the Dales Way. It's very close to the start, great atmosphere in the evening and the breakfast was first rate. Definitely set us up for the day. Finally the Landlord was incredibly helpful and very amusing. Perfect way to start a holiday.

Nice pub tbf. We only stopped for one drink whilst passing through Ilkley. Big spacious pub with a large beer garden. Pay and display parking right behind with an hour's free parking.
Had a fantastic evening here after cycling over with a great bunch of friends from Blackburn and District ctc.

Went to the bar and dining area for some breakfast and to watch the women’s World Cup. Was pretty quiet as it was quite early.
Received amazing service by Isy at the bar, had a full English veggie breakfast which was super nice and a good portion for the price.
Would recommend to watch sport, get drinks or eat a pub meal. Beer garden is also rlly nice and spacious.
Called on a quiet Friday lunch time. A good choice of local ales. Myself and partner ordered Pies which were ok. A small portion of mash and a few peas accompanied. Nothing special. The girl behind the bar was excellent. Hardworking, smiley and very pleasant, an asset to the pub.
Amazing atmosphere. The bar staff are always very friendly and accommodating. Food is always spot on so thumbs up to the chef! Shall definitely be back.
