Lovely hotel, just the right base for exploring Ilkley. The warm and welcoming bar serves well kept local and national ales. The food, wines and service in the bistro restuarant could not be faulted. The entire experience makes you want to repeat visit, many times.

We've had a great stay, fabulous room and comfy big bed, breakfasts are just sublime, all the staff were very helpful, hotel is situated in the centre of Ilkley. Unfortunately there is a nightclub behind the hotel, for which the hotel has no control, which is a bit noisy, but we had earplugs, so we were OK.

Easy check in and a short walk upstairs to The Strid room. The room is shaped as the building is, which is crescent shaped. Nice high ceilings and nice clean room and bathroom and with an inclusive Pierres brekky. You'll either be at the front on the high street or at the back over the courtyard like us.

Lovely hotel and staff. We came as a large group, so more bar staff came out as required to keep up. Comfy beds and tasty food. The only problem was all the rooms we're uncomfortably hot. Fans were left on and windows open but everyone had the same complaint, it was an internal problem, as it wasn't a warm weekend weather wise.

As a small child I played here with the manager’s daughter, Annabelle, and I hadn’t been back in 50 years. But from the moment I touched the staircase handrail to go up to our room, memories came back and the solid, strong feel of this old hotel with its curving frontage and deep, comfy and spacious rooms. The bed gave us a great night’s sleep, and the morning’s shower was easy to use and generous with hot water. The view from the window of the cross roads, church and road down to the Lido brought more memories and apart from one particularly selfish driver in the night, proximity to the road was not an issue. Breakfast came with a good number of choices - I had wild mushrooms on sourdough toast with a mountain of scrambled eggs. All delicious. The hotel was clean, and service was very friendly. But was noticeably lacking in staff. Hopefully a short term issue, but the really lovely, helpful, willing person on duty was overwhelmed, and deserved more help. However, if we are passing again, I would book to stay there 🙂
