Greatly improved from a few years ago!
This chippy is great. The chicken kebabs are fantastic, as are the wraps.
The chip portion sizes are incredibly generous. A regular portion is more than enough for 2 and we always have loads left over. Enough to feed another person!
The fish portions are great too, and absolutely delicious.
The kebab quality was a bit iffy a few years ago. They've really upped their game recently and their kebabs are truly gorgeous now!
Unfortunately this has led them to greatly reducing the size of their kebabs. Particularly the Briggs special kebab. This is really small now compared to how it was.
I wish they'd offer their chicken curry without having to have it with a portion of rice. I don't go to a chippy for rice. Hopefully the owners will see this and start offering it with chips or on its own. I'm sure it would do really well.
Their fried chicken isn't great, so we go to specialist chicken takeaways for that instead.
If you're after a great traditional chippy tea of fish and chips Briggs is now the best in town.
Orderd last night, 1st time in a long time as was usually no good, but was very impressed with our meals, got alot for what we payed for compared to others in region, well done! keep it up :-)
First time ordering from here as really fancied proper fish and chips...so took the chance on this one and I can certainly say I was not disappointed.
The fish was done to perfection...not greasy or heavy batter.The chips were not cheap frozen type that some do...well they certainly did not taste it.All the family was very impressed with the meal which is sometimes a difficult one.
The young lady on the phone was very polite and the delivery came in good time from ordering.delivery guy was polite also...Thank you. .All in all was a excellent service. Recomend you try them for yourself.
Lovely staff kebab meat and chips was the best I've had for a long time! Very clean pla(I)ce and helpful, polite and friendly staff! I'd eat there everyday if I could! Not bad prices aswell!
Lovely chippy offering great food for better prices. I rate their pizza as one of the better ones for miles. Their service is awesome, too. Fish outstanding and their chips are proper chipshop chips. All over good place!
Quality always seems consistent and good, never had any bad food from here. Kebabs are really nice and prices are okay too.
Exceptional kebabs and nan, must get it from next door or something, chips are always soggy and sad looking. Delivery is usually fast and the price is more than reasonable. Five star hygiene rating.. Never been in so can't comment on the dirty remarks.
