Amazing family run restaurant! So rural, quaint, and the food is amazing! We had their famous Sunday lunch and you could feed an army with the amount of food! Everything is very fresh, a lot of it is local. YOU NEED TO BOOK! It is on a lived in farm, run by the family, so you do need to book a table at least a day before.
Have had several Sunday roasts now and what a meal it is. Plentiful and tasty. You will not go away feeling hungry. Chose of starter and dessert as well. Staff are really friendly. Highly recommended.
HANDS DOWN… the best roast we’ve ever had… been here on two separate occasions over the last few weeks and both have been absolutely incredible… the portion sizes are absolutely enormous, the family who run it are amazing and so friendly, all the staff make you feel so welcomed and nothing is too much to ask… the lamb is by far the best I’ve ever tasted and to top it off the starters and desserts are just as good as the mains! They also make homemade scrumpy cider and this is brilliant tooo!!
Utterly wonderful! Lisa and Martin are fabulous hosts and Martin cooked everything in our roast to absolute perfection. A gem of a find!
The Sunday roast we had at Comyn farm was simply brilliant. From the time we arrived until the time we left we were given an experience I will not forget in a hurry.
Two words of advice first. First, payment is cash only. Second, the road to the farm is narrow and winding and you might think that you are lost but don't panic, the postcode will take you to the right spot!
The surroundings are rustic and homely and the welcome felt warm and genuine. All the staff were so friendly, chatty and well informed. Our hostess, Anna, recited the whole food and drinks menu from memory and was ready to answer questions about where the food and drink was sourced. I paid particular attention to the advice regarding the scrumpy and I was lucky enough to meet the man who made my pint!
The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. I have never seen so much meat on my plate in any restaurant I have ever been to. The desserts were equally impressive. I love a good crumble and the apple and rhubarb version I ate did not disappoint. The chef, Martin, along with all the other staff, were on hand to deal with any requests or to just have a bit of banter with the group.
If you are planning a trip in the Ilfracombe area then you should consider adding Comyn farm on your "to do" list.
A party of 26 for our annual prize giving. Great evening with lovely food and hospitality, nothing too much trouble. Thank you
Absolutely stunning location service fresh homegrown and cooked food. Cannot recommend highly enough. I visit every time I’m in the area, 4-4 times a year.
Best Sunday Roast Ever!
Very very homely atmosphere, excellent meat, we got the lamb and beef and i honestly think it was the best meat i’ve ever had in a roast. We were given our own dishes of veg roasties and even gravy and each and every thing tasted delightful and cooked to perfection, especially if you’re a comfort eater who looks to eat good quality, no frills comfort food!
Great place, plenty of accommodation options, lovely hosts who cook a mighty fine roast . Home cooked fare at its best
We had lunch here 30th July, delicious home cooked food and I got to try Humble 🥧 which was superb...always a welcoming and friendly visit...I advise booking
