We have eaten twice here this week and honestly the food is fab. We had the Cod best cod ever. The Butterfly Chicken was very nice and the Gammon really good. Nice portion sizes and good prices. Can't fault it. The staff fab esp Kelly the Landlady she went above and beyond to make sure my Grandson was accommodated to making him a lovely hot chocolate with a straw 😆 and cucumber on his child sausage meal which was just right size for him. Nothing seemed to much trouble and we really enjoyed our evenings here. I like the fact you can take dogs in and little kids play area. Been coming Ilfracombe for 50 years for holidays and this would be my go to place to eat without a shadow of a doubt. Thank you all xx

The Pier has a great location next to the harbour with sea views from the terrace. We enjoyed a really good lunch despite the staff being two down and under a lot of pressure. Menu has a good range of fish, burgers, sandwiches and some other pub classics. Not a huge vegetarian choice but the veggie burgers we tried were good and the chips top notch.

5th October 2023. 17:30. Walking past The Pier Brewery, I see, on the board outside, Swordfish, I haven't eaten swordfish for a long time. We get a warm welcome, and find a table, order taken, we wait in anticipation. Two plates with large swordfish steaks on mashed potato and a salad garnish. Absolutely lovely, and would return there again, maybe to try something else from the menu, or just for the swordfish. Excellent value, great people and atmosphere. Many thanks.

Was down for a couple days midweek between the May bank holidays. It wasn’t very busy, the bar person was in a bit of a dither because her sister had surprised her from Australia and she admitted she had forgotten to take our order. This really wasn’t a problem though and she apologised on a number of occasions, bless her. I digress the food was good, himself had his favourite lasagna, chips and garlic bread he throughly enjoy his, I had the burger, onion ring, blue cheese sauce and chips and again I enjoyed mine. On the way out, we had another apology.

We had an amazing meal here last night. The cod was divine, in a very light fresh batter and we chose the onion mash and garden peas to go with it. My sister had the crab salad and wonderful chips and loved it. We had the squid and mozzarella sticks to start. Totally delicious. The 15 year old waitress couldn't have been more helpful. Would recommend.

Dog friendly, amazing views from their terrace and friendly welcoming staff. Had a double burger and fish and chips and wow, amazing, fish comes in fresh off the harbour 50m away every night. Highly recommend

Really lovely inside now, the current management have updated the place and made it a nice pub to stop at while down at ilfracombe harbour. And now they have beefed up the outdoor stairs so its safe and easy to get up to the crows nest for a view out over the coast on a sunny summers day. The drink selection is good and the food is a great standard. definitely take a pint and a burger up to the crows nest the view out across the water is beautiful.

Weather was very weathery so we ducked in to get a spot of lunch. Staff seemed a little under pressure. Nice vibe to the place, definitely child friendly. Two pints of Thatchers Gold (sadly Old Rosie was not on pump). Chicken Liver Pate and Fish Finger sandwich. £22. Reasonable price. Nice pate, really nice real fish fingers. Obligatory salad garnish. Really wish places would be brave enough to ditch the salad. No one really wants it. Also ditch the handful of broken tortilla chips, please. All in all, would happily return for both food and drink. One word of advice. Seasoning please. Add a good amount of salt to the fish dredging flour before battering. It will make all the difference !!!

Three generations of my family have just enjoyed a fabulous, memorable dinner on the upper terrace of The Pier in Ilfracombe. Everything was perfect, including the bill. A bonus was watching the sun set.

In a word, Fantastic. We spent a few days in Ilfracombe, each night trying somewhere different to eat, all of which were ok. But wow, the food in The Brewery Tap was absolutely top notch and so was the landlady who couldn't have been more helpful!!🥰 A huge thank you from both of us. I just wish we tried your pub first!!

Visited on a Monday lunchtime in June, nice and cool inside, dog friendly pub near the harbour. We had a dressed crab and a mackerel salad both of which were very good and very tasty. Pleasant staff. Quite busy.

Stopped here after seeing the signs outside advertising the local Wizard Brewery, only to find none of their brews available nor were there any craft ales (perhaps understandable as this was at the end of the February half term). I settled for a Weston's, bag in a box, Old Rosie cloudy cider and chilli bean nacho's (the guacamole was excellent) others in my party had sandwiches. The staff were friendly and the food was well presented, the pub could do with some redecoration as it looks tired. A useful lunch stop on the quay next door to the aquarium and the Damien Hurst Verity sculpture.

That Devon Blue burger was no doubt the best burger I've ever eaten and I've had MANY. Flavours, quality, textures, all perfect. So gutted I was only here for a holiday!
