Visited this tea room for my hen do and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The food and service were outstanding. The staff were very accommodating, and went above and beyond to make our visit extra special. Would 100% recommend

We came here for high tea as it had lovely reviews on Tripadvisor. We certainly weren’t disappointed. A absolutely fantastic tea room, with the best, freshest and warm scones ever! Thank you

Love, love, love this place. Visited for the last 3 years when we have been in Devon. My all time favourite tea shop. The cakes are amazing. I really appreciate that gluten and dairy free are catered for and there is choice within that. My son enjoys the puzzles that the miller sets him. I enjoy chatting to the miller and his wife. It's like being invited into someone's home for afternoon tea.

Visited today with family & my 6 and 7 year old children. It's easily the best Devonshire cream tea we have had. So much choice from scones to cakes to flavoured teas. Between us we enjoyed fruit scones, plain scones, Devonshire splits, malteaser cake & fudge cake. Spoilt for choice. The hosts are welcoming and engaging and happy to interact with the children. The tea rooms are a really quaint hidden jewel. We will be back!

Went here during my daughter's hen weekend celebrations and we were not disappointed! It's a little gem of a place, hidden away just a short stroll from a nice bay. Great food, lovely people, very accommodating and friendly. Would definitely return if in the area again.

A favourite place to visit. Yesterday I decided to try the banana and fudge cake rather than the usual cream tea. It did not disappoint. I also tasted my daughters coffee and walnut and that didn't dissapoint either! My husband went for the cream tea and declared it delicious! So five stars all around for the service and yummy cakes. My only dissapointment..... no Turkish delight cake.... maybe next time.

Wow! The only word to describe our cream tea!! Delicious 😋 Interesting place to visit and chat with the owners, really lovely people. Peaceful spot tucked away from main road, well worth a visit. We will return next time we come over from France. 😁

Lovely place, highly recommended even though we were invaded by wasps. A lady came in with a lost dog while we were there. We never got to find out if she found the owner.

So glad we found this amazing relaxing and tranquil place hidden just off the main road. Very friendly and an excellent Cream Tea, sweet and savoury and beautiful gardens to sit in and enjoy watching the world go by.

Amazing place to stop for lunch or afternoon tea. We've visited many times and it's always been excellent. The mill is open for you to walk around and has a very rich and interesting history. You really can't go wrong with any of the cakes, however, they are all so good be prepared to have cake envy when you see the cakes from others in your group. They also offer a good selection of Gluten free and Diary free options and there's clean and accessible toilets on site. Definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and worth detouring past it if you're not!

Be aware, there is NO parking available for this "out of the way" tea room. All of the food available is home made, bread and cakes made direct from the mills ground flour. Unfortunately this place is still keeping the public outside (covid restricted).. as of Aug 2023. So either pick a warm day or wear some warm clothing. The food on offer is of a high standard although a little expensive. There is a single downstairs toilet which is kept clean, running hot water inside and outside the toilet with a number of hand sanitizer bottles placed conveniently. The mill is open to the public with photos and information dotted around showing its history and renovation. The owner (David) has done extensive genealogical work in finding out the past owners and the history behind the mill. There is also a small seated video room showing the mill in action.

The best scones I have ever had! We went for lunch and had tea, sandwiches and scones. They were all absolutely amazing! The owners were absolutely lovely and welcoming. I would highly recommend anyone in the area to pop down and experience all the amazing home made food on offer!

I’m normally not the best at giving good places a review, but this place was so excellent, I had to come and give David and Cathy a review. The food was absolutely scrumptious and the flavour from the milled flour is absolutely stunning. As someone who has consumed far too many sweet treats in my time, the standard of the cake was out of this world. Our newborn daughter had just fallen asleep as we stumbled upon the tearoom and David was a very warm, friendly and excellent host, trying to be as accommodating as possible as we tried to keep our daughter asleep whilst filling up on some treats. We also went to the gallery to watch the video explaining more on the mill, which was great too. How anyone can review this place less than 5* is beyond me! We will definitely be back!

Absolute gem of a place, great homemade treats and lots for the kids to have a look at. Great history behind the mill and very well ran with a really homely family feel to the place. Thanks we will be back!

Both the food and the service is amazing. We ordered a selection of different things (egg sandwich, toasted tea cake, scone, tea etc) and everyone was so pleased with their food. The ever so friendly owner was polite and delightfully conversant to tell us the details about their establishment. The location is convenient. You can park on the main road (A399) but not on the Mill lane as it is residents only (polite request, you are free to ignore this if you don't care). You are welcome to visit the mill whilst your order is being prepared.
