I’ve got to take my hat off to Ambala for their consistency with providing good quality food. Their ludos are second to none and it always has been that way.
A great place to buy Indian/Asian sweets and chats, But the prices was too high... Example a pack of mixtures was £4.00+
Best Indian traditional sweets. It’s bit expensive but worth it as presentation is very good as nice boxes and clean shop.
Great customer service, a well run Ambala shop with all the favourites we South Asians love. A little hard to get to if you’re driving but manageable if you just park a couple streets away and walk there.
Very clean
Top quality Asian sweets
Mithai, habshi halwa, samosa, gulab jaman, jalebi and so many more.
Cost : I would say a bit expensive
Their Gulab Jamun, Hafshi Halwa & Motichoor Laddoo are really nice. Barfi aren't very traditional but are just about average. Worth having Rasmalai too!!
Tasty sweets and considering everything is expensive anyway, the costs of the boxes were not extortionate as some of the reviews indicate (of course if you compare home made sweets you would think it's cheaper but what isn't!!). If you are visiting around a special occasion like Diwali or Eid, be prepared to wait for a while. Staff are slow
One of my favourite places to get pani puris to take out - been here a few times in the past few years
If I have guests over - normally get a box of these, make for a good starter!
Inside looks simple and not over complicated, good range of simple food...
Keep up the good work guys!
Not everything in life is easy
The main reason to come here is the food for some special occasion, and maybe some nostalgia.
Nobody comes here for stellar customer service by the array of unhappy men that work here.
Samosas are amazing. If the general public knew you could get a sub £1 savoury treat on the high street, Greggs would be dead.
Sweets are amazing. Consistently great.
But please let's not judge a 1960s company through a millennial lens.
Ask yourself, you'd prefer smiley customer service over great product?
The best sweet Indian sweet shop in the country it has been here and they have many branches across the country the best sweets by far
Absolutely stunning quality of Indian/ Pakistani sweets. Thank God it's not walkable from my home else I couldn't have avoided the temptation to buy sweets everyday .
They also help you with a box of mixed variety of sweets.
It's very clean place and the staff also maintains hygienic conditions and practices at the place.
Staff is polite and quick too
I tried Misti Doi recently, very good
Go there often when visiting North London their sweets halwa are amazing and always take a fee kilos back up north i recommend the Hafsi Halwa and Gaajar Halwa as those are the main consumables my household enjoy the most, the staff are approachable and work fast no messing about and the prices are more than fair
