Came the other weekend with my friend. Staff were welcoming. The restaurant was clean and aesthetically pleasing. The butter chicken had a very overpowering elaichi taste, however, once letting the staff know, they gave us a fresh dish and it tasted much better. This is what I call great service! Highly recommend.

My husband and I have been wanting to visit Colony for a while now and finally we decided it’s time. The restaurant is located near bus stops (short walking distance) and there is free parking near Issac Newton Academy during the weekend. We took the bus because I wasn’t sure if the car park would be full. On entering the restaurant, we were greeted warmly by Syed who lead us to our table.
The decor was reminiscent of a bygone era and was truly beautiful. There were lots of families, couples and friends eating away happily.
There were no unreasonable delay serving our food. Everything was served on time and cooked to perfection.
We ordered: masala fries, chilli paneer, chicken jalfrezi, butter naan, goan sea bass, tarka dahl, mango cheesecake and vanilla ice cream.
The restaurant is spacious enough for wheelchair users, pushchair users and those with mobility issues.
They have accessible toilets and they were clean!
We would like to thank our two servers Syed and Azim for making our visit an unforgettable one.
The restaurant was almost full by the time we left and these two gentleman served people with a smile.
As for the negative reviews, just ignore them - I did and I am happy that I did. My husband and I will be going back again with my mum.
Absolutely an amazing experience. Held my sons 21st Birthday and everything was perfect. The service felt like it was bespoke to us despite a wedding reception being catered for on the other side of the Resturant. From planning the event with Anwar to the night which Ziggy overlooked, it was completely seamless! We had over 30 guests and not once was there a point where were left alone. The staff and management personally checked on the guests and ensured everything ran smoothly. Welcome drinks and birthday cake presented on dry ice were a great touch. Highly recommended especially for a large events…. Thank you to the Colony team, you truly made it a special event for us🙏

My girls' evening out at Colony Lounge in Ilford was an absolute delight! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the beautiful decorations that set the perfect ambiance for a memorable evening.
We started with a high-quality Shisha pot, which added an extra layer of enjoyment to our time together. The experience was smooth, and we could tell that Colony Lounge takes pride in providing top-notch Shisha.
Now, let's talk about the food. We ordered the chocolate brownie, milk cake, strawberry mojito, pina colada, butter chicken, rice, and naans in that exact order, quite a feast! The desserts were a true highlight, bursting with exceptional flavors, although I agree they were a tad on the pricier side for the portion size.
The strawberry mojito didn't quite meet my taste preferences as it felt a bit flat, more like a juice, but the pina colada more than made up for it with its delightful taste. And the butter chicken, rice, and naan were an absolute treat, leaving us craving for more.
Despite the minor hiccup with the mojito, I can't wait to return to Colony Lounge for another evening out. The overall experience, the ambiance, and the delicious food are reasons enough for me to make this a regular spot for gatherings with friends. Can’t wait to be back.
Very pretty restaurant with great service and great food! The asparagus fritters were quite creative and tasty and the papri chaat was very nice! Some people do it too sweet but their chaat was nicely flavored. I ordered a Romeo's mastaani that I didn't like the taste of but the kind waiter offered me another drink free of charge, which was very kind! But the lemonade drink we ordered didn't really taste like lemonade at all. Would recommend. Nice family place. There's also a sheesha lounge connected at the back for those interested.
Chilli chicken 10/10 loved this just wished it was a bigger portion!

attended for birthday iftar. the food was amazing. the drinks were so lush. the service was 10/10. our waiter abdal was an amazing host he made our experience very enjoyable. he was very attentive and took good care of us until the end.

Everything was delicious and flavourful. Loved the Biryani as was different from other restaurants. The Chicken steak was creamy and tasty.
Went for the first time yesterday evening. There were 6 of us, 2 adults and 4 children. We ordered 2 kids meals, 2 starters, 2 biryanis, 3 curries, and 5 butter naans. We ordered a bit too much but was unsure of portion sizes. Safe to say portion sizes were pretty decent so had to take leftovers home. Food was delicious, only thing was a bit hit and Miss was the chicken tikka masala, didn’t really taste the tikka but everything else was really good. Kids enjoyed it, the drinks were fantastic. Brilliant atmosphere and the staff were very attentive, they were fantastic.
The food was lovely, reasonable priced. The whole experience was really good. Good ambience too. We went in for a birthday celebration. The team understood our needs and helped us accordingly. Would recommend.
A very delicious food and very interesting flavours. We ordered a variety of dishes and shared to have a taste of everything. Loved it all, and their salad was really nice, although I would have added salt, lemon and oil to match the taste I am used to.
Visited Colony for a social with a friend. The food quality was good and they have a large variety of different types of food. We opted for a range of dishes, including biryani, grilled kebabs, mango lassis and naan. Overall, I found it to be good. The prices were quite high but the quality ratio was good too. Ambience of the restaurant was good and the shisha lounge is completely separate from the main restaurant, which is great if you’re visiting with family and children. I especially liked that they had a prayer area, so you don’t need to leave the premises to catch your prayers on time. I’d recommend trying Colony out if you’re in the local area.
Beautiful restaurant and lovely Shisha garden. I would say I didn’t really like the food, but giving it four stars because we had a good time and the service was great. The naan and masala chips were lovely!
Reasonably priced. The food was ok, we had steaks. The drinks were fashionable, they came with a smoke display. Staff was cooperative. The place was nicely decorated.
