I'm only a daytime customer/local so can't speak for the evenings. As a real ale drinker I can say that the IPA is always spot on. They know how to keep a beer. Food is always very good, and the kids meal deals are excellent. Good size canopy outside for a smoke but unfortunately they have stopped me vaping inside. Personally my nose is a little out out of joint by this but such is life. I will still sit outside in the winter with a decent pint so I can compromise. I think maybe Green King have told them to cut back on staff and that's a big downfall because sometimes you can nearly die of thirst waiting to get served. Come on Green King, stop being so stingy and get a few more staff. Overall a very good place to eat and drink. I shall be going for Christmas dinner again this year because it was absolutely marvellous last year and a fantastic price too.

Great meal, friendly helpful staff, very good value for money. Although football match going on there were so many screens we were in quiet comfortable surroundings. Would be happy to recommend to friends.
I'm an evening person, great night when entertainment is on. Good for food and football in the afternoon and early evening.
Only go there occasionally, but we are always made welcome. The beer is good (and cheap) and the place is spotless. I like it.

Unicorn such a nice place to spend sometime with friends or family for couple of drinks. They have a live streaming here. On match day it will be like OMG. If ur not fan of watching live streaming. You have a place outside where you can relax in fresh air and have drinks. Coming to kitchen service iths pathetic. They can't supply as per demand. It happened thrice with me whenever order food they say kitchen closed or the person inside kitchen is irritating. But the ambience and space in the unicorn is superb. Go for only drinks 😜 not for food. Drink service is awesome they are fast enough. Food service pathetic.
Unexpected visit to this pub. The recommended by the waitress red wine was so so, but the pub had a homely feeling. Their staff was super friendly, especially the young male behind the bar.
They were open on a usual Monday :)

This pub is just so good. It's hard to say that these days! It's a nice, non mainstream pub that has a warm, friendly atmosphere and great staff who are more than welcoming and polite. It's filled with friendly local people who are always up for a chat!
The Unicorn has been open for years. I personally use to go there alot in my early 20s but now, around 15 years later. It's just as good. Great food. Pool tables and a big screen with a fantastic choice of beers on tap and bottles all reasonably priced!!

The pub is easy to get to and also the staff I would say are really welcoming the food is extremely good and reasonably priced one of the main benefits is that they have pool tables.
Food is not worth the price. Waffle fries quantity was not worth the price. Staff friendly over worked ( bank holiday ). Good place to relax for drinks
Came here to watch football. Good service. reasonably priced drinks and lots of screens. Very enjoyable, will return.
Pub is amazing had some lovely food whilst watching football all friendly stuff would defo come again and would recommend to friends
A Great pub in the heart of St Albans City. Live entertainment at weekends, pool table and dart board available for everyone to use and a great sized garden which is family friendly. Reasonable priced drinks and food available.
I had a party here for my 60th birthday on 27th December 2021 which was absolutely fantastic. All of the staff worked so hard, they were brilliant. The food was lovely and everyone had such a fabulous time.
Friendly staff and customers. Nice people all around. Cheap drinks with great deals. Also helps that they have 2 pool tabkes and a dart board. Seperate area for dining too.
Lovely little pub. Went with the family 7 of us in total, food was a reasonable wait and actually really tasty and filling. Everyone agreed we would go back again

Great local pub with plenty of screens to watch football or cricket. Plenty of choice at the bar for beers spirits etc. The food is great value and is reasonable. They also have pool tables and a dart board which is something you don’t usually see in pubs this day and age. The atmosphere is fine.

Banging Grub , took the Family for a meal and food was unreal was served by a young lad called Charlie I think ( although I heard someone called him Dobbin must be a nick name) really helpful with allergies on the menu ..... we look forward to coming back.
