Excellent food... excellent staff.... highly recommended
Amazing food and beautiful decor.
U must try the chillie paneer!!
Good food at a reasonable price if I would come back may be twice or thrice a year check it for yourself
Best in Gants Hill with proper Authentic Indian taste. Delicious cuisines
Best indian resturant in east london. Food is amazing.
Absolute stunning food....can go there every weekend and still cant have enough
Food is very good. Especially the starters. We all (group) had a fantastic time. They are very busy. So a romantic quiet meal is not gonna happen. Shame.
Served fast, tasty and reasonably priced.
Staff were very friendly and the restaurant was busy at the time we visited, but managed well. Definitely worth a visit if you don't mind your food hot, even their mild food is hot!
Place any order and just get it in few mins after the place being so crowded. Whatever you order will be served hot. You get the order and in no less time food will be over in your plate.
Non veg lovers don’t wait any more to try this place.
Heaven is here for all the non veg food eaters.
a super duper refreshing ambience. once you enter the place, you are gonna have an experience of lifetime. Food is 5/5. Must visit for people around Ilford n Gants Hill.
The last time I was here had to wait around 40mins for a table which I didn't mind as they was around 12 of us. Which I can understand the food was amazing didn't get as far as main course but the starters where nice. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Lived up to the reviews, but would have given a full 5point if they had given a roomali roti instead of a elongated tandoori roti. True it's expensive than other restaurants of the same case but most of the dishes live up to it's pricing. The ambience is almost near to a 4star restaurant. Loved the panner dishes and exemplary Naan's!Swetha Subramanian
Caraway Is a indian restaurant in gants hill and not to be confused with a typical curry house. The decor of the restaurant featured a moroccan infused design in the center as well as a pleasant water feature which created a nice atmosphere, as pictured. From looking at the interior and staff I would guess that this is a indian punjabi run restaurant
Great food and great service. This is always a great Indian restaurant to go to. The dishes can be quiet spicy so if you can't handle spice make sure you ask for mild. A little bit pricey but definitely worth it.
Conveniently located @Gants Hill, nice decor and good food. Enjoyed everything we ordered (tandoori chicken, lamb, Saffron rice, crispy babycorn) authentic Indian taste something I had been missing for the past 1year, but they are miser in quantity with really small portions. The only let down was the Nan, ... Overall 3.5/5.
Best North Indian in Ilford area. Caraway is a well located resturant and has a lovely welcoming ambience. The food is typically north Indian (believe me I can make out the difference between any cuisine from within India and can definitely make out Bangadesh or Pakistani from Indian by the smell only). Good taste of food, good selection and staff very friendly. Raj the Manager is friendly as well.
Caraway located just of Gants hill roundabout in Redbridge has many authentic dishes on the menu catering to both the non-vegetarian and vegetarian pallet. The food is authentic, generously served and tastes wonderful. Staff are courteous and immediately make you feel welcome.
The food is always of very high quality and in all the times I have visited food I am yet to be disappointed.
They do a wonderful goan fish curry and their biriyanis are excellent too. I love the way they are served in Indian copper dishes.
The only negative would be that there are perhaps too many tables tightly packed in the restaurant.
This is a well established restaurant so I would advise to book tables in advance
Overall ...great authentic tasty Indian food at a very reasonable price, great place to bring friends and family.
I went to caraway for my New job celebration. The service was really good even though it was a very busy night they still made sure we were comfortable, and took care of our needs, I first didnt like where I was seated but the manager came right away and put us on a bigger table, they had candles lighted and flowers which looked like they really make an effort on presentation. The food is always on point... definitely recommend caraway to all kind of groups if you are with your family or friends having a business meeting or are coming with your date. Caraways is definitely the restaurant for you.
One of my all time favorite Indian food joints in London.
Shakarkandi salad & palak kofta is something I cannot avoid no matter how much I attempt to try new dishes on the menu.
Overall the place has a cosy ambience and appropriately priced for the food they serve. Never bothered to focus beyond the delicious food. I am from Mumbai and have been to some of the finest Indian joints in the country and even after returning back home, I still crave the food at carraways. I wish they had a branch in Mumbai and would surely visit.
Also distinctly remember the house white wine they serve which is great. Dont remember the name of the wine though its great!
I really love this place, they serve some of my best foods such as there mushroom starters, mogo, paneer and there amazingly tasty mains like butter chicken and paneer. Caraway is probably one of my favourite indian restaurants! The service is quick and efficient and great value for money! The staff are very friendly too and they have great deserts also.
This is the first Indian restaurant I visited when I came to the UK. I flew from New Delhi only a few days before I went to Caraway. I still had the taste of legends like Karim's, Bobby da dhaba, Haldiram's, Khan chacha etc.. lingering in my palate. So how did I feel at the time about the food at Caraway..take a wild guess..
However as my deprived taste buds got used to the Indian food in London and as I went back there a few times it grew on me. I began to appreciate the taste and flavours of the food here. The restaurant is close to Ilford which has tons of Indian restaurants but this one is slightly more oriented for family/group visits in terms of seating, decor, space etc..
I specifically enjoyed the lamb chops masala, tandoori chicken and Lamb karahi with Nan. Rabri with gulab jamun to end it on a sweet note. Service is A-ok. Its a pretty busy place in the evenings so make sure you have a reservation.
I live quite far off so my visits to Caraway have been few and far in between, besides the number of Indian restaurant options in London make only a few special ones to be a candidate for re-visits. If I lived a bit closer, I may have been a regular.
This place has the most authentic Indian food. It has the look and feel of an upmarket Delhi restaurant. Keema matar and naan highly recommended. It is usually quite busy so suggest booking a table in advance. Overall excellent food and service!
We recently dined at this restaurant, and the experience was truly delightful.
We ordered chicken tikka, malai kofta, bhindi, and naan, and every dish was delicious.
I highly recommend this place to everyone. What made our visit even more special was the generous gesture from the owner, who surprised us with complimentary jalebi. Their kindness added a sweet touch to an already wonderful evening.
This restaurant is a must-visit!
Can’t believe that I got to eat amazing indian authentic food with wonderful flavours. The spice and flavour in Bhindi do pyaaza and palak paneer 😍was like I’m eating at home and like restaurant level. Pav-Bhaji felt yum, as if prepared at home and I finally got good amount of jeera in it!!!! 😌 My friends in the end tried some deserts like Gajar Halwa, Brownie and Falooda, everything was amazing. Finally I have a place where nothing let me down.
If you’re looking for actual Indian food which tastes like the food we get in India - this is the place to go!
Hakka noodles - 5/5
Garlic naan and Dal Makhani - 5/5
Avocado Bhel - 5/5
Karari Bhindi - 5/5
Pani Puri - 5/5
Nice Sri Lankan (Indian) food. The atmosphere was pleasant and the restaurant was clean. The staff was also very pleasant. Delicious cuisine!
One of our favourite restaurants, always a pleasure to visit, service is always friendly and informative, food is just amazing.
Food was good, butter chicken was a little too sweet for me but otherwise all other dishes were really tasty. Service was also good and food came quickly and piping hot. We did order a jeera rice and they bought the wrong one but that was rectified fairly quickly. Overall nice place to go for a dinner with family and friends
Beautiful caraway, great area where we sat. Peaceful, quite and staff are friendly. the menu is varied and not expensive and is a great gateway into indian cuisine !

I was an advocate for Gymkhana having the best lamb chops in the world with its blend of spices... but I was wrong! Caraway has without a doubt the spicyest and most flavorsome chops in the world, wow!
The food was amazing, it tasted delicious, I love spicy heat and it delivered, they also had mild dishes so don't worry if you are someone who finds black pepper too hot, there's something for everyone. To add to that the service was great and nothing is a problem, they will customize the dish to suit you.
Last note on the food... whomever is in the back cooking is doing a fantastic job! Thank you!
All those who served us did it with a smile and very attentive. I recent went to an Indian restaurant in London Bridge called 'Indian Gourmet' and the service left me feeling underwhelmed, here at Caraway you feel special and like they want you to have the best experience not just to get you in and out as fast as they can.
The resturant decor was very nice, my only criticism is that given the nice decor the place wasn't squeaky clean and sparkling as you would expect. Possibly as they had had a party booking and not had time to clean thoroughly but the floor throughout was sticky, also seats covered in glitter. Just a little more freshness would make it a resturant people from the other side of Lobdon or even outside of the UK would travel to eat in.
All in all a great experience due to amazing food, I shall definitely be back!
Hellos!!!
Wonderful hospitality and service fromTeam Caraway as always, whilst we were there to celebrate my Son’s birthday!!
Yum yum food, warm friendly service and they also presented us with a birthday cake to complete the celebrations!!!
Thankyou Caraway Gants Hill

Food - Fresh and of good quality. Plenty of options available. Try out the Jug of Lassi, really good portion and tasty.
Price - Reasonable price compared to other restaurants near by.
Location - 2 minutes walk from Gants Hill Tube station (Central line), parking space in near by street is free after 6.30pm.
Reservation - We booked the table in advance to avoid any delays.
Customer service - The member of staff is good, they welcome us, and throughout the time they were excellent.
All in all, just amazing. The feeling of eating homemade perfect taste food is something that I had here. Bhindi Do Pyaza was just yummm. Pav bhaji was amazing, pav were made crispy, felt as if mum made them. I will recommend the place to anyone who really wants to have indian - authentic indian food, for someone who has recently come into UK. Trust me, you’ll keep visiting the place once you taste the food. The managers and staff were so kind and polite, they wanted everything to be perfect. They really maintain amazing customer service.
Caraway is always a safe option for good Indian food. The food is tasty and always consistent! I love the fabulous paintings inside the restaurant. I loved the Peshwari Naan and Chicken starter.
We ordered Qeema with green peas starters PAPDI CHAAT SPICY AND GOL GAPPA
YUMMY TASTE AND QEEMA QUANTITY FOR TWO PEOPLE WAS GOOD AND MORE EVEN OUR TODDLER LIKED QEEMA
ONE RECOMMENDATION
THEIR GOL GAPPA ARE VERY LESS AND SMALL PLEASE INCREASE QUANTITY PLEASE and one drink the bill was 32 GBP WITH 4 naan
Good tasty food, only criticism is the portions are far too small and each dish you order whether bhindi, paneer or or corn, these dishes represents 25% main item with the rest is onions tomatoes and capsicums. Shame. Happy to pay more if you are given what you order rather add other items.
Please take a note and adapt.
Lovely Indian restaurant. Surprisingly cheap beer.
Visited Caraway for iftar today. First of I would like to mention that the customer service was brilliant, the waiters where efficient and polite.
We got a few things:
1. Ghost Biryani: was pretty good. It comes in in a small looking bowl but the portion is fine for two adults.
2. Masala Murg: I asked for spicy but it wasn't lol. It has a tomato base but was quite nice
3. Tameka Daal: surprisingly very nice.
4. Keema naan: was good.
5. Peshwari naan: was great. Love these
6. Virgin Mojito: I asked for extra mint but was still too citrusy for me
7. Lamb chops: great taste, 4 comes in a portion. However the sizes vary; two chops were very small.
Every thing cost about £49 for all of the above. Decent joint that I'll happily visit again.
I don't think they are HMC so avoid if you only done at HMC restaurants.
