Massive thank you to Michael Tesco Hattersley for helping a slightly weary new mummy look for her baby's missing sock this morning before providing me with a pack of brand new socks free of charge for her freezing baby feet!!!! What a gent. Tesco, I hope this message gets to him. Fab customer service!!!!! One happy customer and one contented baby x

Like I always do I grab a basket and get a shopping trolleys worth in it! And my arm dragged to the floor! a lovely chap called Nick in a suit with a tesco name badge came up to me took my basket and said 'OK what next!' Nicest thing ever! I bet he was relieved when I said the till! Thank you! Tesco at Hattersley! Old fashioned customer service!!!

Was completely refurbishment during September 2023 and reopened with the usual excellent staff and excellent food (which is why I have left the following 5 star review unchanged). Unfortunately, the refurbishment means we will not be using the café as often as we have done in the past, because they no longer take cash. The counter has been replaced by order screens similar to the screens in MacDonalds and some M&S cafe's, and younger people will love them. Unfortunately, unlike the similar machines at MacDonalds and some M&S cafe's (which take cash as well as card) the new payment screens here only accept card payments. The café looks fine, and the food is as good as ever, but the payment system makes it feel very impersonal and there is less opportunity for banter with the friendly staff. Also, some of the older customers who usually pay by cash will now feel excluded. Personally, I prefer a choice, sometimes paying cash, sometimes by card. As I now no longer have that choice, my choice unfortunately will be to usually choose a different café. Latest image shows the café, and the back of the payment screens on left hand side. The original review was as follows: Food is excellent, as are the staff. Friendly, efficient, and professional. Breakfast is always hot, well cooked, and well presented.

The upstairs Tesco cafe is clean and tidy with lots of space and the balcony overlooks the main store. There is a lift and moving walkway for people in wheelchairs to gain access. The food selection is good and always arrives hot. Drinks are a bit pricey but in line with other cafes. They do a good all day breakfast or a jacket potato with beans, cheese and salad for something a bit more healthy. The staff are always polite and helpful. We have been a few time and the food and service have always been good. We will be calling again.

A slightly better breakfast, than at Morrison's in Hyde. A LOT less time waiting, for it to appear.
