Loved this place to bits. Our room was newly renovated in a delightfully eclectic style. The food was so good we ate all our meals there, breaking my longstanding rule to always avoid eating dinner at the hotel. Breakfast was incredible, and included in the room rate, which honestly made it feel like a steal!
Had a family reunion lunch with family from Uk and Zimbabwe. We had a private area for our half deaf Uncle so he could hear. The staff were fabulous, friendly and the food was divine. Thank you.

There were lots of charming rooms to choose from, all beautifully decorated.
The food and service was excellent. My steak frites was huge, tender and perfectly cooked. My husband's steak and ale pie was delicious and huge. The gravy was delicious. Our friends chicken kiev were delicious and ample too. Prices were great value for money and the house wine was great.
We didn't stay at the inn but the pictures of the rooms looked very nice.
A lovely village pub about 7 miles from the A34 and past the turn off for Highclere castle. The pub staff were very welcoming and friendly and check in was nice and quick. Our room had everything we needed for our one night stay and was of a high standard. The bed was firm and comfortable and the en-suite bathroom had an excellent shower, easy to use with very good water pressure. So will save the best till last, the food in our opinion was excellent. We had a starter each (I had the Korean chicken wings which were stunning) then the main event roast beef Sunday roast all of which was super. The pub staff service was also excellent and we had some good banter during our time there. All in all a highly recommended place to stay particularly if you’re heading to Highclere castle. Myself and my mum stayed at the George & Dragon this week as we were visiting Highclere Castle (15 mins away). We had a lovely stay. The staff were so friendly and attentive. From welcoming us at check in to ordering dinner in the pub to breakfast. Rooms were comfy and clean. The pub itself is beautifully decorated and the food was delicious. Fantastic value for money and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.
Fantastic lunch, as usual the food was sensational. Thomas and the team are so polite and attentive. Would recommend for a quiet drink, catch up with friends, nice lunch, intimate dinner and a celebration. Faultless

A fantastic find! Stayed over for one night prior to going to the Hawk Conservancy 15 minutes down the road..
Greeted the moment we stepped into the B&B and shown to our room.. Room 1.. small and cosy ensuite room with everything to hand, including a decent shower!
Choices for dinner were very good and reasonably priced, as was the lovely breakfast the following morning! Could not fault anything 😋..
Only small niggle was the fact Room 1 was directly above the staff chill out/kitchen so staff shutting down for the evening could be loudly heard when we were heading for bed and the main road outside the pub was busy, so could be heard with windows open(25 degrees outside!)
Other than that, the pub has a lovely feel to it.. friendly staff and older decor meets new expertly with a great deal of detail.. the new garden patios offered tranquil corners and hidden spaces in amazing planted borders and trellises that were all in bloom.. beautiful! The scenery around the village is just as lovely. Would definitely stay here again!
A great pub offering a welcoming atmosphere, friendly efficient service and delicious food at an affordable price. We're lucky to have pubs like this, but they need customers' support to survive.
Lovely staff very polite. We had no reservation but made us a table. Roast beef dinners were large portions.
The perfect venue for a mini break. This place is delightful, atmospheric and cosy. The staff were brilliant and couldn't do enough for us. There are 3 log fires which made us and our dog so warm and comfy. The food is delicious and locally sourced. Very interesting menu. We can't wait to return.
Came here for Sunday lunch a few times. Always spot on, well worth the trip out. Excellent food and service in a lovely pub.

A dining experience so good that while staying at a nearby airbnb, we dined here not once but twice (on a Friday & Saturday)! Dog friendly. Attentive and friendly staff. Delicious seasonal menu options with mouth-watering daily specials.. Both the beef pie and the fish and chips were fantastic. For vegetarians, highly recommend the grilled cauliflower and also the gnocchi . Sticky toffee pudding was a delight. We sat in the “naughty corner” both nights - right by one of the fireplaces (see photo). Ideal! Strongly encourage booking in advance as it appeared all tables were occupied on both nights.
Met up with 22 members of family. Had a great room put aside for lunch. Meals were tasty and presentation good. Service excellent. Friendly and efficient. Would certainly consider this pub for another family gathering.
Three of us popped in this morning with the dog for breakfast.
Fabulous food and great staff and I did NOT cause the flood in the toilet.

Stayed here one night as an escape from london, really lovely characterful pub. Large parking lot. Room was really nicely decorated and sparkling clean. Service all night was very warm and food was delicious. Would 100% visit again.

Stayed here last night and had the most wonderful experience. Gorgeous room at the front of building overlooking the road onto fields. Beautiful view so quiet. Dinner was fantastic and the staff were so friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was included and such a great choice.
An amazing country pub with beautiful rooms.
