Beautiful gardens very well kept, peaceful and lots to explore, we also enjoyed the merriments full breakfast wow it was just lovely and lots of it, lovely that you are served at the table too, would highly recommend a visit here, bought a couple of bits in the shop too so a good day all round.

Took my parents for a cream tea today. Food was lovely. The shop has lots of unusual, charming gift ideas in it. The plants and pots were beautiful. And all reasonably priced. We will be back.

Lovely garden center. Beautiful variety of plants for sale and the grounds and gardens around make it a destination. Wish I would have had more time and could take plants home with me. (Canada) Best Cream Tea I've ever had. The scones were out of this world. The service was awesome too. I'd go back every day if I lived nearby.

Visited the Merriments with a friend, loved the planting of the gardens. The staff were very helpful, particularly one man who went out of his way the find the name of a clematis for me, wish I had his name.

First time, very pleased visitors! Bought a variety of indoor/outdoor plants for wife’s birthday (the choice here is VAST!) and all look healthy and happy. Also enjoyed lunch in the Merriments restaurant and that was delicious. All the staff here are helpful, friendly and know their stuff. Big shout out to Grace who was especially helpful in choosing our house plants, and Tracey for our outdoor stuff…Thank you!! We will return to look around the gardens (too wet today) and enjoy another lunch! Oh, and no doubt buy some more plants! All in all. This place is perfect!

What an amazing garden. We have visited Merriments frequently and have never visited the gardens before and we were really amazed at how lovely they were. Such a variety of plants to help you plan your garden. Followed by a lovely breakfast only let down by the awful music playing in the restaurant. Moved into the outdoor seating area and could still here the base music from there! ☹️

This is a very charming garden centre. Although the indoor shop is smaller than many, they still manage to put on great displays, plus when I was there they were starting to put out the Christmas selection. The restaurant is now back to table service and is often packed. They always have a specials board. Cakes that not only look good but taste just as great. All round it's a lovely place to go.

Stopped by for brunch ..we were abit late for a full English... But the lovely staff and chef cooked 2 up for us and gave my little dog his own breakfast sausage We thought that was very kind 😋...lovely garden centre so many healthy plants ..Quite a few staff busy tending to them ..We would liked to have visited their themed gardens...but it was tickets only and we thought it was a little to expensive sadly

Really good place for Garden inspiration. A stroll and sit around the gardens could give you plenty of ideas for your own planting. There are colour themes in some parts, a vegetable area, a couple of running water features, a pond. The grasses section was particularly attractive. It's nice that there are plenty of benches dotted about so you can relax and enjoy tranquility. There is an area where they have around half a dozen feeders and a shed to view the birds feeding. It can be a little dark though and having your distance glasses could be an advantage. It's £9 entrance fee and as there was a dog bowl with water, they appear to welcome our four legged friends. An abundance of plants and flowers are available to take home after your visit. The only disappointment was the cafe. After being shown to a table outside, the waitresses hadn't returned after ten minutes, so we left and went elsewhere for food. Otherwise it was 5 stars from me.

The gardens linked to the garden centre are worth exploring. Good examples of what plants will grow into and how to combine them.

We 3 visited on 18th Sept 23 & all had a lovely time ! Thank you to the knowledgeable, helpful & friendly staff. We were all very impressed by the well planted & designed gardens. Chatted with the gardeners and sheltered from the rain in the hide as we watched the birds feeding :-) So much to see & can't wait to go again. Absolutely will be recommending Merriments to everyone!

A wonderful garden which has been divided into many garden 'rooms'. The jungle garden, herb garden, silver birch coppice in particular are simply amazing. With plenty of benches to sit and admire the garden it is easy to spend several hours here whether relaxing or gaining inspiration for your own garden. Definitely one of the best gardens in the South East. The staff in the nursery are helpful, knowledgeable and very polite and plants are reasonably priced.
