I really enjoyed my night away from home. The room was clean and very well equipped with hairdryer, ironing board, iron, kettle and television. I slept really well as the bed was very comfortable. I liked the mix of the traditional high beams and contemporary styling. The decor in the restaurant area was an eclectic mix of old and new quirky styling which I found inviting. I was made to feel very welcome. I really appreciated the lift to collect my car the following morning as I had left it at the wedding reception, meaning I was able to save money on a cab fare. The Inn is located in beautiful countryside, I just wish I'd had time to explore the area. I would highly recommend this venue.
Love love love this place. me and my partner had the best time her and are right now planning our next trip. The room was beautfiul and spacious and looked out on to an amazing view of the countryside.
The pub was lovely and the staff so kind.
I do have one little thing to say my breakfast was a little soggy as my holandaise sauce had split but the chef did re open the kitchen for us so we could have a late breakfast so not really a big deal. All in all a very lovely place to stay.
We chose Black Boys Inn as a place to stay for our 2 night stay whilst attending Windsor Dog show. I enjoy old buildings and due to being 16th centenary it appealed to me and my travelling companions for character.
Everyone was very friendly especially Henery, who was very helpful and chatty. A relax atmosphere making Our stay with the dogs deal.
We stayed in room 1(standard room) and room 2(superior) on arrival the rooms were clean and cosy.
There were a few downside to our stay one being the mold In both rooms. (Maybe some tanking could resolve this issue)And being unable to hang clothes In room 2, due to the smell of the damp in the closet. The console table also in room 2 was very unstable and unsafe. Room 2 had a chair that was so heavy it was a mission to move it. The only difference with the rooms were a larger bathroom in room 2 , this could do with a new toilet seat as it was broken, and a Tassimo coffee machine with pods for a completely different machine. I did mention this when asking for some more coffee and was brought some coffee granules. Also larger cups wouldn't go a miss either.
The price for both rooms were high considering what was on offer and we also found the food prices high.
The pub does close on a Sunday at 6.30 which we were only informed of Sunday afternoon on our return from the show. Wi-Fi was not accessible in the rooms.
Even with these issues we enjoyed our stay, I'm sure the owners are working on the issues of the mold being raised by so many people. Including upgrading the furniture.
Stopped for some well needed grub after a long day at Legoland to find a lovely little pub ran by a really welcoming couple who served the best Lamb shank I have ever tasted. Family and pet friendly serving some truely fantastic food.
A colleague stayed here. I joined them during breakfast and the staff were accomodating and friendly. The rooms certainly were in need of some TLC, but the bar and dining were good.
Just got back from staying at black boys in for 2 nights. It's just been taken over by a new manager, Fiona and she's lovely, really welcoming, can't do enough for you and really eager to make the black boys inn a place where you can stay, have food or even just stop for a drink.....the bar /sitting area has kept some of its original features with the exposed beams but has a real modern feel to it. The staff are lovely, Mark is friendly and nothing is to much trouble. The place looks as it does in he pictures and whilst it could do with a little updating (which I'm sure will be on the cards) they are still so quaint and you have a lovely view 😌. It's the ideal location, only 10 mins from Henley and 10-15 mins from Marlow and only 25 mins to Windsor. We will definitely be returning in the furture as its such a nice place to spend a weekend away. Thank you to everyone at the black boys in for making are stay as nice as it was and see you sometime soon 😌
Only popped in for a beer a couple of times, but it's lovely.Friendly owner, lovely bistro atmosphere and there is accommodation which looks really nice.Must try the food sometime.Views from beer garden are very nice and relaxing.I joked that I had steak in a very hot sports car,and he put it in the fridge for me,cant beat that.Highly recommended.
Chicken liver paté followed by sirloin steak (blue, seared perfectly) and chips then sorbet. Each a simple dish, but all executed well and delicious. Well worth a visit.
Lovely place, huge rib-eye steak and mash perfectly cooked. Was worth more than the very reasonable price charged. Recommended.
Excellent food and excellent hosts. Stayed with our new puppy. Rooms are spacious and fully equipped.. will go back ..
Lovely place, friendly and welcoming atmosphere... the owners were great and the food good. Would def return
