Popped in for a spot of lunch today (16/2/18) unplanned. Pub was nice and busy, bar staff were friendly & warm. Food was spot on and the portion sizes were plentiful! Pudding was excellent (cheesecake comes recommend) and all in all a nice little gem of a place to stop and have either or drink or food! Definitely be back.

One of our favourite places to eat out. Simple, clean, friendly members of staff. A must try if you are in the area! It has a great little garden out the back and it has a very homely feel!

First time visit and it will not be the last. Wonderful food. It's been a very long time since I've had what I can describe as a perfect meal from starter to dessert. Lovely calm atmosphere (arrived at 6pm on a Saturday evening and still here at 9pm enjoying). The new owner is very welcoming and engages in discourse with just the right amount of dry humour.

Lovely traditional pub hosted by a very welcoming lady who looked after me and the spaniel serving gluten free beer. I will certainly return to try the food 😊

Very friendly and welcoming staff and plenty of seating and good facilities. Good range of food, however Hunters chicken and Eton Mess didn't live up to expectations although the rib of beef special was good. There was a lack of draft real ale or craft beers, which would encourage more customers if available. The pub is in a lovely location and should attract more customers, however the recent change of landlord and covid may be limiting its success. Worth a visit.

Staying at the Premier Inn and didn't want to eat there.....so, we came to the Black Horse and so glad that we did. The staff are incredibly inviting and friendly, the pub is traditional and has a lovely garden. Lastly, the food is really tasty and made to order. If you're in the area it's a great choice. Thanks to all!

Good, friendly service, delicious food. I'm allergic to milk and egg and they happily accommodated this. Lovely garden area , with extra gazebos for COVID. I'm repeat customer, it's my pub of choice for eating lunch out.

The friendliest pub we have ever been to! Highly recommend this wonderful rural pub, great homecooked food, great prompt service and a lovely garden and meadow. The resident dog Tilda kept our children entertained whilst we enjoyed the traditional pub atmosphere. This pub has it all, it is a must visit for any thirsty & hungry traveller.

Nice relaxed atmosphere. Enjoyed my butterfly chicken with mushrooms toms and chips. My friends lasagne came with a nice salad and garlic bread. Although it was tasty it was dry and would benefit from being served in a dish. Great quality soft drinks.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel extremely welcome and it was a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Very friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you. Excellent food and service. The roasts were absolutely delicious. The half childrens portions were generous too. We will definitely be coming back, thank you 😁

Went here for my Nan's 96th Birthday, staff friendly and welcoming, nothing to much trouble, we had the whole of the conservatory area, (able to set out tables as we wished), food excellent, large portions, I had chicken supreme which was stunning, my son had fish and chips....really tasty the batter was so light, children well catered for, so many delicious items on the menu!!! highly recommend. Value for money.

Great little village pub, off the beaten track. Went to an evening where they had live music and there was a great atmosphere; everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Limited parking given it's location but it wasn’t a problem. Staff were helpful and friendly, and the food was excellent. Well worth a visit. Recommended.

Traveled from Kent to Salisbury and popped in the Horse Inn after our skydive, the owner was lovely and we met two other local customers who we sat with and all made us feel very welcome.
