We found this restaurant on our quest for decent fish and chips. It took a while for the staff to notice us, but when we ordered the food and it arrived we were quite surprised. Attended a reception at this deceptively roomy bar and restaurant. Was worried that the car park was too small, but discovered more parking around the back. Staff vary helpful and welcoming. Plenty of tea/coffee laid on. Food was lovely.
The staff were very friendly. The food was good and reasonable price; but the shower needs a bit of care and attention other than that not too bad.
Called in for quick drink nicely laid out did not eat but seen a portion of sausage and mash which looked great. Hence 5 stars.

We were here on this occasion celebrating the life of a good friend following her funeral. We had been here prior to this attending a retirement party of another friend and on both occasions the food, service and friendliness of the staff was 5 star.
The only down side here is the limited parking
We've just celebrated our 2nd birthday in Business at the Kings Lodge, the lamb shank was exquisite! Highly recommend A++
