Stumbled on this place whilst looking on TripAdvisor. We live in North Yorkshire and Mum has recently moved to Sawtry, so wanted to treat her to a lovely meal local to her for Mothers Day. Booked online - easy peasy. Turned up - easy to find, well lit parking, inviting surroundings, lovely decor and friendly staff. Table was elevated and spacious without feeling hemmed in like most restaurants, pink prosecco was divine, shared the bread board platter which was huge and great value for money with the nicest runny scotch egg I've ever had the pleasure of eating, proper homemade burgers in brioche buns for main and Guinness beef followed by the biggest vanilla creme brûlée, tastiest sticky toffee pudding and zestiest lemon tart for desserts. Attentive & friendly staff and will most certainly be returning next time we're down visiting Mum in Sawtry! Job well done guys & gals Hayley, Chris & Jan

I went yesterday for a birthday evening meal. I am a bit fussy about what I eat so thought I would struggle with the menu as the combinations weren't the norm. But pleased to say I was very wrong. The chef clearly knows how to put different flavours together; we all had something different and each dish was delicious. Will definitely go back again and already recommended to several friends. Ambiance and staff were lovely.

We ate at The Abbot's Elm yesterday- cannot recommend highly enough. Amazing food, relaxed friendly atmosphere, very accomodating/understanding of my son's peanut allergy. Cannot wait to return.

At Abbots Elm with friends from Finland. From the start we felt really welcomed and the food was absolutely fabulous. As a bonus there was live music (two guys playing guitar and singing). Would warmly recommend Abbots Elm to anyone.

Visited with a friend for lunch. The food was of a very high quality, freshly prepared and just enough. The presentation was appealing and imaginative. I had whitebait with a truly amazing tasty chutney style dipping sauce. My companion had the pea soup which looked fabulous. We both had the omelet Arnold Bennett. Very tasty and filling. The by the glass wine selection great for a luncheon. The staff were attentive and friendly without being over fussy. The meal was good value for the quality of ingredients and skill used to cook it. I have no hesitation in recommending The Abbot's Elm for a lovely lunch or an evening meal as I have been on a number of occasions. Dogs are welcome.

4 of us had lunch there yesterday. First time since new management. Staff friendly and welcoming. Considering the place was packed, food was served quickly, and presented well and most importantly tasted very good.

Excellent service, fantastic food and a great environment. Our first visit and we will be back! Just one small thing.....the wooden furniture in the patio is in serious need of painting.

Really lovely staff! We went on a Sunday as a family (my parents, Uncle and Auntie, and my brood of children!) I had roast beef Sunday roast and it was delicious! My boys also really enjoyed their meals. Will go again!

Stopped off here for lunch after a long 10 mile walk. Decided to have a selection of the 'nibbles' plates and so pleased we did - they were delicious!! We chose the bang bang chicken with a sweet & spicy sauce (this was amazing!) crispy corn & harissa yoghurt, the lamb kofta bites with raita and a side of fries. All very tasty, will definitely visit again.

Lovely pub in the center of Abbots Ripton. Very accommodating and friendly staff. All of us had really tasty roast lamb Sunday lunch. Good selection of beers. Didn't stay there but rooms looked nice. Very busy as you might expect. Loads of outside seating.

Lovely pub, in a beautiful location. We sat in the beer garden on a sunny day, and honestly it was lovely. One of the cleanest pubs I have ever been too as well, which with young children is a necessity.

Excellent Christmas day lunch. Nicely cooked Turkey dinners and steak choices but the sea bass on a bed of butter beans was a little disappointing in taste and presentation. But all other dishes from canapes to desserts and coffee were very good. Staff were very friendly and efficient, lovely atmosphere in the restaurant, low noise levels made it a very pleasant lunch.

Had the most amazing lunch here just after it opened post-refurb. The place looks incredible, the staff knowledgeable and the food was out of this world. The layout of the newly refurbished pub more makes so much more sense and there's been so much thought, effort and money put into making a meal or drink here something special. As much of the ingredients as possible are sourced locally and they are using seasonal ingredients which means the focused menu will change frequently. The prices are definitely not cheap and cheerful but I'm a big believer in 'you get what you pay for' and I didn't think for the quality, that the food was overpriced at all. Anyone wanting a friendly drink or a great meal should definitely pay the Elm a visit!
