Visited on a Tuesday evening for dinner and didn’t disappoint. Mark the owner is one of the nicest guys we’ve ever met, went above and beyond for his customers, very attentive always making sure we had drinks and just genuinely a really nice guy. His service alone would make you want to go back and visit. We had starters, main and dessert and all were so yummy! The mango chutney onion bhajis were super yummy as was the treacle sponge for desert. We will definitely be back! Thanks so much for being so accommodating Mark! Your pub is a delight :)

The best Gastro Pub we have been too, and we go to many, food to die for, especially the home made Piccalilli, food was cooked to perfection, all cooked to order. Service was excellent, I don't usually leave a tip but this time I did due to the service and being looked after, well done Jake. This place is out in the Countryside and even has a good gravel carpark. We will be back. Mark (the owner) thank you so much.

Great setting in a lovely little village. Well worth a visit if you're over that way. Good menu with smaller plates available. Will definitely be returning

Lovely lunchtime meal at The Crown in Broughton yesterday to celebrate my daughter’s last day at The Ivo!!
Couldn’t fault the service either. Nothing was too much trouble and even tho we arrived with minutes to spare (kitchen closes at 2pm) they squeezed us in 💙

A beautiful country pub with its own car park. Recommended xxx
Jake, manager allowed me to still sit in dining area, 5 mins before kitchen due to close, big thank you for that. I ordered my starter and main quickly so kitchens could clean down end of their shift. Chose a dessert that did not need cooking. And to finish I had a Floater coffee, people of the 1980's will know, basically coffee at bottom, with cream floating on top. Option for non drivers. Option for alcohol addition if other means of transport home.
Food positives and slight critisms (very small), as the team were kind enough to serve me. The Pea and Mint Aranchini (rice) balls had a drizzle of honey mustard dressing, which overpowered any taste of mint that may or may not have been there. A sugestion, you could consider serving with a small amount of crushed peas (same as with your fish and chips?).
That could add extra minty element without deflecting from what the dish is hoping to achieve in its title or dish theme?? Maybe chopped fresh mint, or dots of minted olive oil if lubrication necessary??.
These little balls were moist enough, and suited what they were meant to do.
Fish and chips, tempura type batter, bit difficult to eat as so crispy, fish was soft and well cooked. Crushed peas, a little dry, probably where prepared at time of my starter so kitchen could clear down. Still edible, better if not so dry/hard in areas. Entirely forgiven though, when you taste the chips !! Amazing, good size portion, served in parchment little half parcel. They were totally gorgeous.
Missed being asked if any sauces were required as vinegar and mayonaise would have complimented.
Dessert I opted for the chocolate mousse, chocolate soil, roasted pistascio nuts and I requested vanilla icecream instead of the proposed salted caramel accompanyment.
Warning chocolate mousse very bitter ! Soil was great. Nuts didnt really add much. Icecream not too bad. Price at £7.25 was a bit on expensive side for size of dessert, but very rich, decadent dessert, so forgiven.
Improvement suggestion: Maybe fresh strawberries or rasberries would enhance this and relieve the palate, icing sugar sprinkle on the dark plate as additional decoration also could artistically enhance.
Floater coffee completed my meal very well. Price overall with one bottle of soft drink around £35.00.
Will be going back. Beautiful pub. Thank you Jake and Harvey for your hospitality. Hope to visit again soon.

This place never disappoints. The food, hospitality and drinks list is superb. Definitely the best gastro pub in the area. The fish dish I had tonight was up there with the best I've ever had. 10/10

It was "steak night" when we were there. Nice steak options to choose from but also other dishes from the regular pub menu. Staff was attentive. Wine was of good quality.
The Crown Inn is a beautiful old building in a small and nice village. Recommended if you are in the area.
The only downside we found were the poor acoustics in the room we were in. A nearby family with kids msde it almost impossible to keep a conversation going at our table.

Gorgeous food and lovely staff. Little mix up with the bill, but it was busy and easy to forgive after the amazing nut roast i had ♡♡♡ Definitely recommended!

Great village where everyone is really friendly and likewise in the pub/restaurant. It’s a lovely place with inside and outside spaces and, when we were there an open air cinema being created for that night I was upset I needed to head home!

Me and my partner love this place, wonderful food and great service. Steaks and fish and chips are amazing

Very nice, discovered by accident. Some way from home. A very friendly and helpful staff. Our meals were very good. Just a pity that it is to far away to be our regular

A really good place for a Sunday Lunch ! Great for big or small groups - it can be a bit noisy if a big group is in ! Lovely garden and plenty of parking.
Food is really good and served promptly.

An amazing find in the lovely Broughton. The Crown Inn is located in a beautiful place and the indoor looks just as nice. The food was also a wonderful surprise. Every dish was well executed and well presented. The peculiar flavours might not meet everyone's expectations but it certainly exceeded ours. Price also absolutely justified and probably the most important part, a really kind and professional service. Can't give less than 5 stars. Definitely recommend anyone nearby to pay The Crown Inn a visit, you won't regret it!

So much fun! Great food! I wanted to lick the plate! It was that good! Adorable English countryside charm too. Can't wait to go back!

Very pretty pub in lovely village, modern, almost elegant. Very courteous staff. A bit overpriced, portion size was small. Fish and chips £14-95 Batter on the fish was hard. Would have preferred garden peas, rather than mushy, if offered the choice, the custard on the desert had developed a bit of a wrinkled crust on it and dessert wasn’t sweet enough. Very clean.

Set in an idyllic English countryside village, The Crown sells a good selection of ales, as well as all other kinds of liquid refreshments. Well kept & modern inside, only the 'fine dining' side of things needs improving and meal prices are not cheap for the quality of the food you actually receive.
However, they do some good 'specials' on the menu & the restaurant appears to be busy at most times. The staff are very courteous & the pub holds a great little beer festival on an early summer weekend in it's spacious garden.

Excellent place. The Village setting is lovely, opposite the Church and open countryside. The interior is clean and inviting. Staff are all very polite and even a simple coffee comes with either a biscuit or small brownie square. These little extra touches are what seperstes it from others. Finally the food. Never had a bad meal and every dish thats come out has been excellent. I even went there for my Birthday with a load of friends and they all enjoyed it. I don't often eat Steaks but I will here as they are always brilliant. If I were on death row and offered one last meal in my life, it would be at The Crown Inn.

Food was amazing as ever, service was excellent even noted it was my dad's birthday without telling them and brought his pudding with candles and singing. Always a great meal even with a party of 8 all plates cleared. Covered all options of vegetarian, gluten free and fussy kids

I attended steak night with my family. The service was outstanding. My 20 oz steak was cooked to absolute perfection, along with garlic roast potatoes. After our meal, the chef came out and we discussed large steaks like a 78 oz. I would have no problems recommending the crown inn over other eating establishments in the area.
Laura Boyce
It's such a lovely pub and everyone in it makes you feel amazingly welcome.
The chef and all the other staff are fantastic. 100% would recommend.

Landlord one in a million. You are always made to feel like a welcome guest at this charming, old but smart pub, whether you stay for dinner, settle for some simpler food in the bar, or choose just to have a pint or two with a friend. Mark, the landlord, is a rarity; a genuinely friendly human being who has a sixth sense for what his customers want from a village pub. Sadly, it's not in my village but frankly is one that I'd walk several miles to, and frequently do! The beer is always excellent and the wine list sensible. He mixes the best lime juice and soda ever, if you are driving.
