Possibly the best fish and chips we’ve ever had….. and we’ve had lots!!!! 😅😂
Lovey restaurant inside with modern decor and really clean.
Service was friendly and really quick.
The fish and chips were top quality and plenty of it!!
Plenty of others in the town but you’d be happy if you choose this on.
Top draw 👊👍
Whilst in Hunstanton we seemed spoilt for choice when it came to a quick sit down meal, so as per usual, Google maps and reviews was our deciding factor and this place sounded great.
We were greeted by a friendly waiter who showed us to some comfy seating, three adults and one 4yr old. The place was quite busy, Sunday at 2pm yet the service was swift. I ordered Haddock, the other two adult guests a Halloumi Burger and Sausage and chips and a side order of chips and bread for the toddler, drinks were two teas and a coke, fruit juice for the little one.
The meals arrived much quicker than expected, again the (waitress this time) was friendly, she actually asked us if we’d like any sauces. The food tasted good, it was cooked just right, chips were nice too, the portion sizes were fair but certainly not huge like several reviews claimed, I actually felt the £57.00 bill was a little on the steep side, £15 for Haddock and chips.
Before we left we decided to use the toilet, one labelled baby changing and another unisex with a queue of 4 waiting to use it. Not ideal for an eatery of this size and not the best, the hand drier was seriously under powered, probably not helping the cause and I’m glad I wasn’t a female with the state of the seat.
I’d eat there again, an easy 4 star but voted third best in the country, I’m honestly a little shocked at that. I have been lucky enough to eat in Papas in Whitby voted the best by the BBC and there is a gulf in the difference.
Really tasty fish and chips and reasonably priced. Good portion size. Batter was delicious. Was very busy due to being a hot summers day but service was quick and friendly.
We fancied some lunch, and the kids had been begging for fish and chips - with it being fairly windy out, we opted to sit in. Only a short queue and seated quickly. Each of the meals includes a side of peas / gravy / curry sauce etc, including the kids meals. Food came very quickly, which is great when the kids keep asking how long until food is ready...! I enjoyed the meal, but I can't say it was the very best I have had - the fish in particular had a LOT of batter, I wouldn't let this put me off coming again (especially as you can also order a beer with your meal!) I really liked the curry sauce - some of the best I have had with chips. Worth giving this place a go, especially if you want to eat inside, which to add - was clean and tidy.
Really the best you will find - certainly in Hunstanton and probably in this area of Norfolk. Great service, friendly staff and great food. Haddock was sublime. Great portions (we couldn’t finish it!). A little on the expensive side but I would expect the Owners to apologise for that due to the quality. Highly recommended.
Wonderful chip shop. The chips were so tasty. I'd bought salt and pepper squid with a regular chips and a bottle of coke zero. Cost £12.50 all together. Reasonably priced and really tasty food. Would recommend if you're in the area and then sit out on the green... Just be aware of the seagulls.
We sent our order over in advance as we were a large group on a day trip. Food was ready on arrival and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Thank you Henry's for being so helpful. Your staff really helped make our day enjoyable and run smoothly.🤩🤩
I really enjoyed Henry's. Great staff, service and food.
We were undecided between the Sweet Chilli Prawns or the Scampi, so did a mix & match - hence the photo.
This was the highlight of an otherwise grim aging town.
Best fish and chips I've ever had , plus I had the curry sauce. Very clean inside , we missed the rush luckily it was nice and quiet . Good reasonable priced. Staff polite.
First time visit last weekend. We sat outside. The fish and chips were very nice. Not too oily. Beautiful views across the green and out to sea. We travelled down on our motorcycles, from cambridge, and fish and chips was always part of our plans. Henry's was actually recommended to us by a local in a shop away from the seafront. And we nearly started an argument between the staff. The other recommending the place by the arcade. People are passionate. The other place was described as 'more greasy, which is what I like '. So... we had insider knowledge. And based our choice on our tastes. It's not cheap. But it is exactly as described. Recommended.
Second time visiting and did not disappoint. Food amazing piping hot and fresh. Staff friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
We had lunch with fish and chips and few glasses of beer and cider. Food itself is tasty, personally i was happy with mushy peas. But i would offer them to take more attention to service. I'm not kind of person who want waiters to smile or be kind, but i dont' like to see how waiter filling beer from one glass to another like leftovers or passing you glass of cider while holding it by edge where i will have to touch it with my lips.
First time I've been here but it was lovely.we had the senior meal which is just £10 for cod, chips, mushy peas, bread and butter and a drink. The fish and chips were scrumptious. Beautiful batter. Best mushy peas I've had in a long time, made me realize how lacking in flavor some are. good friendly service too from the young man with the beard and the trilby and all the young servers
Henry's was our first port of call on arrival on a soggy day trip to Hunstanton. As the weather was so poor, we decided to look for a fish & chip restaurant where we could sit in and eat. We found Henry's which was quite quiet so there were plenty of tables available. We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who gave us the option of several empty tables for two. We both chose Haddock & Chips from the menu - one with salad, the other with Mushy Peas which were £15 each. Drinks-wise my wife wanted a coffee and I wanted a fruit tea. A waitress came over and took our order promptly, but unfortunately coffee wasn't available due to a machine fault which was a little disappointing. The food was also served promptly which was good but not exceptional. The Haddock seemed a bit flattened compared to Haddock we've had elsewhere. There were plenty of chips though and we couldn't manage all of them. As we were leaving, we spotted several friends of ours - one of which had ordered Cod which looked a lot nicer / larger than the Haddock so in hindsight we wish we'd picked that. Overall Henry's is a good place to go for fish & chips, with very efficient, friendly staff but I wouldn't say the quality was exceptional for the money.
Very nice fish and chips. More expensive than a normal chippy but the quality is worth the extra cost. Restaurant is cool and modern.
Visited shortly before the 4pm (winter hours) closing time. We were made very welcome, seated and, served, quickly & efficiently by the friendly restaurant team.
The food was delicious and tasted great. Our group of six all enjoyed our visit.
The knives and forks even have their own smart envelope along with serviette. Nice touch.
Well worth a visit- we stopped by on February 1st- midweek.
Best fish and chips I've had in a long time. Takeaway, but the restaurant looked lovely.
Absolutely loved it! My new favourite fish and chips shop for me and my family! Not to mention the fish was not greasy and the curry sauce was incredible! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
