Got the big table by the bar, great for 6-10 peeps (you can't book this, so pot luck!). Had loads'a great food, stuffed to the gunwales. Marvellous local pub with great grub. Went back to get the same table again 5 days later.....no chance, pub was packed, and looked like it had been all day! That's staycationing and half term combined...

Very friendly staff. We ate in the bar area as restaurant booked out. Had 2 bottles of coke. Haddock and chips wirh mushy peas. Haddock was very greasy and overcooked but edible. Lasagne very nice. It does come with garlic bread and salad but my partner didnt want that so he had chips instead . The salad still arrived though lol. Nice atsmophere and very clean. Paper menus on tables. One of ours should have gone in a bin as something spilt all over inside.

Amazing food and service. Located in a stunning little village. They have a range of specials which are also fantastic. If you can, try the seafood chowder. Will definitely be back.

What a splendid hostelry this is! My wife and I dined there on consecutive evenings in mid-June and were unable to find anything to our dissatisfaction. The landlord was obviously a man of few words, but once we’d broken the ice he was very hospitable. Other waiting staff were also friendly and helpful. The choice of menu was more than adequate, not expensive and served fairly quickly in good sized portions. The bar was well stocked with something for everyone. It would appear that depending on what night you go there you either sort your drinks and food at the bar or get served at the table. We were advised to book beforehand, but decided to just turn up and weren’t disappointed on both occasions. The pub is also dog friendly. There is adequate seating outside and a reasonably sized car park. The bar area inside seats (I’m guessing) 30-40 people and probably the equivalent outside, and there is a quieter restaurant area to one side. All in all I was impressed with The White Horse and would definitely recommend it to others.

Fantastic pub in a beautiful location! We visited after a stunning walk to Holme from Thornham and were so impressed we drove to visit again for dinner. On both occasions we sat outside in the lovely beer garden due to being fully booked for the whole week. Whilst being incredibly busy, the service was efficient and incredibly friendly. The menu is large and varied and has a large range of seafood. Would recommend arriving as early as possible in the evening - we arrived at 5.15 and grabbed the last parking space and got straight to the bar. By the time we left just after 7, parking was spread right up the street and the queue for the bar was snaking back outside - a mark of its popularity! Great for kids, the site itself is absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend the homemade pies! We will be back!

Only 4* simply because we visited specifically for the mussels, and they'd sold out, so we had the squid and the whitebait instead, and they were tasty and very fresh. The service was excellent, even though they were getting very busy as always.

Nice pub on the coast. Pleasantly decorated with good efficient service. However my Steak and Ale pie contained several sizeable pieces of gristle. This is unacceptable. All meat should be thoroughly prepared before it goes into a pie. My companions were fortunate to have picked alternative dishes which seemed to be of sufficiently good quality.

Probably the best prawn sandwich in Norfolk, which can be enjoyed whilst sat in a easant garden in a peaceful environment just a few minutes away from Holme beach.

Nice beer garden with a large open-sided marquee (needed as it was very hot that day). Good food and beer at reasonable prices. Great service. Dog friendly - nearly everybody in the garden had a dog

Remembered this hidden gem from a few years ago and took the chance on Good Friday without a booking after a brilliant afternoon on Brancaster beach. Fantastic service and food. Play area to keep children entertained and kids menu. We'll be back.
