Had a lovely meal with friends this week, pub wasnt too busy and we were served fairly promptly with just a little wait for mains. Food was excellent as usual, the fish & chips portion and the small rib portion were quite large but were eaten with gusto; my swordfish was just right and delicious. Friendly service by young studenty chap and tattoo'd foreign chap (sorry we didnt catch your names!) was attentive. A great place for a relaxed meal with great food. Not yet been in the garden due to adverse weather conditions each time I have visited but its on my list!
Celebrated my birthday here yesterday and had the Lemon Sole. I cannot recommend it enough! Really beautiful meal. Great atmosphere, good selection of drinks, friendly helpful staff and a great location. We love this place and come back time and again. Thank you for making my birthday memorable.
Service! Quality! Value! Setting! Absolutely spot on! Busy Sunday afternoon served within minutes at the bar for a drink then we ordered food and it came out in no time at all. The food was well cooked, I had the chicken burger it was succulent and juicy. Plenty of staff and all spot on. Well done to all.
Such a beautiful place, always warm and welcoming, the staff are all lovely, and I love to see the dogs in the outside gardens. We pop in for Sunday lunch every now and again, today we had the roast beef and it was perfect, tender meat, perfect Yorkshire pud and roasties and great gravy, thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend, they always use seasonal and local produce where they can and you can tell how great the quality is
Celebrated my birthday at the Red Lion, Hunningham with my wife. The car park was full so we parked in their very large overflow car park. Enjoyed the walk up to the pub. The setting is stunning next to the river Leam. Beautiful pub. Beautiful gardens with plenty of spacious area to sit and enjoy the scenery. We had a few drinks in the garden and then took our 2 dogs, in the pub. Everyone was very friendly and all the staff were very helpful. We had four courses and drinks. Stayed until closing time. Had a thoroughly great evening. We were particularly impressed by the service which was outstanding for a busy pub. Can't wait to go again as Richard and his team even saved us our favourite table. Well done guys. Shame the score is only out of 5 as you deserve more.
Tremendous delicious food! The food and service here are of restaurant quality. This is the 2nd time we have eaten this month (Dec17) on both occasions we have been mightily impressed!!!
Beautiful views, picturesque pub, friendly service. Great food. Little more expensive than your average pub but well worth the money.
I was there with friends for a meal it was a very friendly place, good food and good service we did have a little wait for our main course but not overly long. Will definitely go again.
A great pub in a beautiful setting. Richard, since in charge, has been providing great quality of service and I love going there either with family, friends or for a working meeting.
Amazing food, superb location, I can't recommend this pub highly enough!
We had lunch here after a wet muddy dog walk and were delighted that the dogs were welcome too. We had burgers and sandwiches which were served most efficiently by Adam. Excellent choice of beers, best burgers we've had for a long time, knowledgeable waiter, what more can you ask?
Lovely place. Attentive staff and great food.
Warm welcome, amazing food, beautiful pub, I cannot recommend it enough
Very good service and good pub food - also dog friendly which is a big bonus!
Superb Sunday lunch in an excellent beer garden with kids rides, carousel, bouncy castle etc.
Order from table. Quick quality service and a beautiful location on a summer's day.
Kids rides only in place for 6 weeks during school holidays but an excellent spot regardless. Plenty of space inside and out for families or those without.
Roast beef, seasonal veg and crispy roast potatoes in gravy £17.00 good selection of drinks too.
Lovely outdoor garden with plenty of space and seating. There was also a marquee for shaded seating too. We had a ice creams and coffees that came quickly. The staff were friendly and helpful. Nice toilets too.
I booked a table for a family gathering, Richie was able to let us use a table which sat all 28 of us around it!
The children were accommodated for and the meals were all served quickly and were hot . We pre ordered and everyone was very happy with their meals. The service was especially good, attention to detail and served with a smile. Excellent venue for such a large gathering, thank you team!
Good portions, reasonable prices. Good fish and chips!
Friendly, helpful staff.
Lovely Pims.
The first time i went there service a little slow as it was quite busy there.
The next time I went, on a Friday lunchtime, it was very quiet!
Idyllic spot right on the river. Loads of spaces outdoors to sit.
If you want to sit indoors its probably best to book.
We ordered their special burger. The food was delicious It was one of the best burgers i had in recent times.
But the service was very bad, we literally had to wait almost 1.5 hrs after the order to get the food, and every time we used to ask the status they used to just reply that it would be ready in 10 more minutes.
A great pub for Sunday lunch. The staff were very attentive and the food, lovely. It is dog friendly and we, along with our friends who we met with, took our dogs. The pub has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere with music playing in the background, though not too loud that you couldn't talk. The Butternut Squash for main course was delicious and the chocolate mousse was just as tasty. We will certainly be meeting there again.
Huge charming gastro pub with many covers inside and out in pretty countryside. The food was very tasty and fries really excellent. If you’re not excited by burgers (various meats & veg) then the menu may not thrill you, although there is also an additional steak menu too. Great attentive friendly service.
Yep, worth the effort!
Burger Monday's , steak Wednesday's and fish and chip Fridays.
This at the moment is our go to place for lunch. Table easy to book online, Richard responds personally, loads of car parking and looking forward to dining there in the Summer judging by the amount of outdoor furniture the place must get rammed!
So - well worth the effort for the food I reckon, the steak can be a little hit and miss and medium rare means a good vet could have it mooing again so if you can't it it rare then make sure you let them know, luckily I'm an ardent carnivore.
Service on the Wednesday lunch time we went was a little sketchy but not a show stopper and in fairness I think Livvy was doing all covers. Only comment I would make Richard is that when it's chucking it down with rain, perhaps the staff that smoke could do it round the back instead of at the main entrance, as an ex smoker I get havi g a ciggy but it wad t a good look to be honest.
Pay the Rouge Lyon a visit, I think you'll enjoy it, we did/do.

Lovely spot to relax. On the river Leam. Very peaceful. Good food. Friendly staff. Prompt service.
Great pub in a great location. Easy to cycle here and the pub caters for cyclists with dedicated cycle rack. Plenty of outdoors space to sit and enjoy the countryside. Not been for food but seems like a large selection and recommend booking for food. Nice selection of beer on tap too.
More of a summer pub , by the river .
Recently added more seating out side . Will hold up to 300 . Plenty of parking .
Popular pub . Good choice of menu . More up market in price .
On a negative point was horrified that 2 x hot chocolates came to £9 .. and out of a machine in a basic mug .. no thrills at top dollar & tasted bland .
Still a nice piece to spend soke time on a warm day
A beautiful little pub just outside Coventry next to the river, the food was delicious and more importantly piping hot /freshly cooked, we were on a birthday celebration and were looked after marvelously with very helpful staff both sides of the bar,
My wife had some Napton cider which was very tasty and I had a pint of IPA draught which was good enough to think of a taxi next time,
Food was lovely although I found the courgette and basil soup a bit heavy on the basil for me. No coffee available due to broken machine but a kettle and instant would have done. Good atmosphere and dogs made welcome. I stayed overnight in camper but please note the large beer garden has very bright lights on until closing time. Next to a very pretty bridge and river..river quite reed choked so I doubt any boats go through. Staff very accommodating and friendly.
Probably the warmest welcome we have had anywhere on a campervan stop over (Brit Stops). The staff could not do enough for us. The manager pointed out his car and said ‘as long as that is in the car park, the door is open to you, for a coffee or to use the facilities.’ We had the vegetarian ‘fish’ and chips, with battered halloumi. It was very generous with the halloumi but we might have preferred a third less and a few more of the very tasty chips or a larger portion of mushy peas instead. But that is nit-picking of a very tasty meal. Other highlights were the stunning beer garden with river alongside and the very dog friendly welcome. Highly recommended
