Popped here for lunch. The Downgate has a nice selection of food all freshly prepared and ample portions. I had the Cod and chips the meal came with peas, salad, coleslaw, tartar sauce. A very large well presented meal and good value for money. The staff are friendly and very attentive. Excellent lunch service keep it up.

Fantastic! Booked through Facebook for 6 people on a Saturday. The service, food (we had the burger, all day breakfast, scampi, lasagne and the ham, egg and chips plus puddings) and selection of beer was brilliant and all for a really good price. Will definitely be back again! They were also incredibly dog friendly!
A lovely dog-friendly pub tucked off the high st in Hungerford with friendly staff and a concise lunch menu of delicious and well presented food. Clean and comfortable interiors with rustic elements and charming touches. A highly recommended pub to visit!
Went for lunch. Staff friendly and food was good. My seven year old son actually finished his lunch which is quite a compliment.
The breakfast here was so good!! All food is freshly baked and everything was so light and tasty, all for a great price as well

Had a couple of well poured pint’s during my visit, served by polite and friendly staff.
Good service lovely cold pint but best of all I could sit across the road/cattle grid in the field with a terrific view of the canal, common and grazing cattle. Perfect.
A walk around the common followed by a lovely roast dinner, Yorkshire puddings were a highlight. Small pub so book 👍
Has lunch with a couple of friends. Good atmosphere, good food, good beer and not too expensive. The staff were very friendly & efficient. We will be back.
