I love this pub. Some might say it's outdated or old. Personally I think that's what give it its charm, it hasn't changed since I was a teenager. It's cozy with real fires. Not the electric rubbish. The food is awesome, the landlord is a character. I've seen reviews that say he is rude.utter rubbish
Great service and friendly staff with excellent food. Lovely walks across the moors and a warm winter welcome with a roaring fire. Unfortunately atmosphere was slightly off due to an idiot. I'm glad to say that Steve the landlord dealt with it in short thrift.... Great place
Really good food, staff and customers were very friendly, would definitely recommend. Thank you see you soon.
First time visit to this traditional pub. Loved the atmosphere and the food ( cooked by Margaret). Will definitely return.
Lovely little pub which we called into by chance when passing. Been back in today lovely and warm with two fires. Nice coffee and looks like a large selection of beers and spirits. Large function room with lots of parking. Will return to try the food next time.
A traditional English pub, no modern frills or fancies. Good food well cooked, generous portions and reasonably priced. Will visit again.
Been here today for the first time in a while and how we have been missing out. I had Scampi my wife had fish and chips and it was spot on,cooked to perfection good size portions and at an amazing price we look forward to visiting again soon.
Stopped for a pint on the way home, after someone mentioned this place in Manchester. Glad I stopped and hope to return to try the food.
Called by on our carriage drive. Pint in the car park brfore setting off again
Just spent a week in Yorkshire and wish we had discovered the LRG earlier. The home cooked food was absolutely gorgeous, with very generous portions. The beer was equally as good, especially the real ales. If you are looking for a traditional Yorkshire pub, with good food, beer and prices to match,
My Wife and I enjoyed a most enjoyable meal here yesterday evening. As the food is not pre-cooked you should be prepared to wait maybe half an hour for it to arrive but, believe me,it is worth waiting for. My Wife had a fish dish for her main course and I had a Gammon Steak. Both were cooked to perfe
Went back here post covid on a nostalgia trip found it even better than before, wonderful home cooked food in traditional surroundings, highly recommended. Just remember, cash only!
Not been here for a few years but went for Sunday lunch and pleased to say that it was still as good as it ever was. The atmosphere is still warm and friendly I won't be leaving it as long till next visit.
