I haven't been to a sit-down chip shop for decades but I saw this while was up there working and thought I'd like to try it. I had a Chip Butty and a can of pop for £5 and it was great. So easy to drive by looking for some modern fast food chain when this is all you need.
Had to wait 20 mins for the fish because there were many orders before mine but the fish was delicious when it came , peas good also. Not so keen on the chips but got a good helping and price was very reasonable so I'd recommend it. Staff pleasant and friendly.
We visit here quite often because of the quality of their fish and chips. We have been to other places to try too, around Huddersfield and other nearby towns and none match this chippy.
I now have just a fish butty and pinch some of hubby's chips as there's that many in a portion of regular fish & c
First visit and we were not dissapointed. Clean and bright with quick service. Enjoyed our meals. Nowt went to waste 😋

Visited with the children and the staff were welcoming and couldn't of been more attentive when it came to the children. The place itself was lovely and clean. Overall reasonably price and good quality food. Keep up the amazing work.
First visit here , got a fish to take out and it was great and the batter was perfect , will definately be visiting again . . Very pleasant and helpful staff too . .
Pretty good food. We got the jumbo fish and chips which came in a 12" size pizza box. No complaints to be made and decent fish and chips. Thanks for the lovely meal folks xo
Really good price and the portions are amazing. Chips are nice and chunky and the fish is lovely. Batter is nice too

Absolutely top-quality fish and chips. Opened in 1978 by the Stan and Hilda Ogden from Cornation Street . First visit. Will be back if in the area
Whilst staying at a nearby hotel, found this gem of a place. oustanding value and very tasty. Would not hestitate to recommend. Fish was big and had to lleave some of the chips too much for me👍👍👍

I visited Mother Hubbard’s on Friday. I had Haddock special, chips and mushy peas.
The Haddock was amazing as was the batter.
The only downside was the wooden fork, that was as useful as a chocolate fire guard.
Excellent service, the best fish n chips. Great portion, not too greasy. I'll defo recommend
First time I visited with my friend very clean place tasty food and the manager was very polite professional and handsome …. Will defo be returning
