Clean and tidy throughout, friendly staff and a fantastic band.
All in all, a great night in a great pub.
Just wanted to say thank you for the gorgeous meal on Sunday. It was perfect. We had the sharing dinner for 4, my daughter has a milk allergy and your attention to her dietary needs, admittedly very simple, made her feel included. So many times we have to resort to chicken nuggets and chips for her meal when we dine out is shocking!! Will deffo be coming back after Christmas and bringing my mum.
A quality Sunday roast in a cosy traditional pub setting — great service and atmosphere! Highly recommended!
We visited the Ship for the first time tonight and we will definitely be going again. The service was way up and beyond any service I've received in years, Liv was totally brilliant and made such a great fuss over our dog & us, that we felt moved. Great bar, great music, next time we'll eat & bring friends! Big shout to Liv & Victoria!
The food was cooked to perfection , along with friendly service . A good choice of beers ,you will love it like we did. You will not be disappointed

This is a really pleasant civilised pub with beer garden decorated with a seafaring theme. This is an establishment that has maintained table service since lifting of lockdown regulations so there is no quiueing at the bar & allows for those whom wish to maintain social distancing. The staff are friendly, helpful & attentive so service is pleasant and prompt.

Every time we have been the service has been fantastic.
We get the roast dinner platter so we have a choice of meat all really tasty the roast potatoes are the best ever an the Yorkshire puds & gravy are both homemade!
Always have leftovers which the staff are happy to box up to take home!
Not had a bad experience yet an will continue to support this fantastic local!!
Staff were great. Very helpful. NHS discount available if you ask. Screens inside and out. Shows the football. Nice back seating area.
A friend and I visited this afternoon and had the most delicious roast dinner. We ordered extra cauliflower cheese and parsnips that were gorgeous. The whole meal was delicious. I had beef and my friend had lamb. Both were stunning. I’ll defo be back. The whole pub was friendly and cosy. Loved it. 🥰
Lovely place to dine in, staff was helpful and friendly, not the biggest food menu but the food they do have is tasty indeed. Outside garden for anyone looking to have a meal or drink in the fresh air, drink choice is decent. Would come again, definitely recommended. Atmosphere was pleasant, not too loud or too quiet. Overall a good experience compared to some other pubs around the area.

The beer is great. They have had a full cellar refit from Heineken and it has made a huge difference. They even have two craft beers on.
The food is great and cant wait to try the roast which is served until 7 on sunday.
The pub has carpet again and is back to feeling warm and cosey like it had previously.
Really pleased it's back. Looking forward to summers in the beer garden again!
Update: Had a Sunday roast today, it was nothing short of excellent. It's always hard to compete with a home cooked roast, but this certainly did that. And no washing up either. Safe to say the best roast I've had out in a very long time if not ever!
I had a fabulous birthday Sunday dinner at The Ship last Sunday and was so delighted that I had chosen to celebrate it here. There were fourteen of us and so this could have created quite a challenge to the staff but they were marvelous, attentive to everyone's needs the whole time. The food was sensational - everyone had the Sunday Roast. I had the beef again, my favouite, and gravy to die for! Thanks to all involved, I had a lovely, memorable birthday, such a happy time.
