Lovely old English pub, with a large beer garden and carpark, nestled at the bottom of the pretty village. Plenty of history in those big wooden beams and panelling. Split into 4 main areas, two have the bar running through them and three more focused on sit-down eating. Each with plenty of old character and atmosphere. Staff are friendly and menu/drinks are a good selection. Watch out for vegetables being served in separate dishes to your main if you are in a group - they are for two not one!

Delicious food and nice ale! We had three vegans and a meat eater in our party and were all extremely satisfied! Everything was cooked to perfection, and the sausages were incredibly meat-like and deliciously seasoned! Really well worth a visit!

Everyone was so lovely and welcoming , which definitely made the experience ten times better! The food was incredible , and much cheaper than you’d expect for the price. The steak, which is what I had, you could literally taste how fresh it was. The staff were super lovely, and it had such a sweet family atmosphere. I will definitely visit again when I’m in the area, I couldn’t recommend enough.

A lovely evening meal and generous portion size for 2 adults and a child 17th February. Very welcoming staff and friendly locals. A wonderful open fire.

It had been some time since we returned to the area and thought we’d call in so it was nice to see the pub still as we remembered it but it’s had a lick of paint recently. The building is full of character with its timber frame still visible in the pub’s various rooms. The evening bar staff were very friendly and the beer was excellent. They had been wiped out of much on the menu following Mothering Sunday so the the fish of the day was scampi but served well and tasty. Our last visit they served good coffee with few pieces delicious of homemade fudge but that seems to have long gone sadly. Overall a recommended place to have a pint and a meal.

Friendly staff/owners & good food. Sunday roast was excellent. All this & if you sit in the back bar you can also take you dog(s). We found this pub by accident but will make a deliberate trip soon

Stopped into this 600 year old pub just for a drink. Very atmospheric and super setting in a quaint little countryside village. Friendly service and clean toilets. Will come back for lunch in the future.

Went to dinner with the wife and some good friends. I had pie of the day. You get the pastry made fresh and the filling actually fills the pie. Lovely rich thick gravy. Great staff, great food, great atmosphere. Great all round. Reasonable pricing. Can’t wait to go back. Superb.

It is not the first time I have been to Hoxne Swan. Each time I have walked away incredibly impressed and satisfied with the level of service, friendliness and liveliness of the pub. They have recently released a new burger menu which I have just tried and it blew my mind. I would highly recommend Hoxne Swan for anyone who is wanting a delicious meal, friendly atmosphere and great service.

Went there for a work Christmas lunch. Sat in the "dinning room", which was a nice big room. There were about 22 people. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced at £27.50 for 3 courses.

Situated in a lovely village. It's appears to be very old. The staff were very helpful. My aunt is not a big eater and they made a smaller plate for her. The pies were proper pies with a top and bottom which my husband prefers and the pie of the day was chicken and was really good. I had the fish and chips and was impressed as it wasn't greasy and the chips were also tasty. Would recommend to friends and will also visit again.

Went today with my wife and her auntie. Food was top notch. A proper pie and mash not a casserole with a lid and packet mash. The Fish and chips was also very good not at all greasy and fish was full bodied. Young lady serving was pleasant and helpful. Can’t remember the name but had a nice pint of ale. The Auntie who lives near by said she will use again. I would definitely recommend this pub which is also very old with character. Thanks to the chef.

Stopped over on the way to kessingland randomly. Was a nice find such a nice atmosphere with an open fire. And good food. Had lots of locals in there but felt welcome all the same. Made our journey a lot nicer.
