Reviews That Tea Room

The afternoon tea was delicious and made even more appealing by the lovely decor and knick knacks for sale. The Duchess Grey loose leaf tea was perfect with it. Scones which I'm incredibly fussy about, were just the right size, texture and taste. Delicate bite sized pieces of moist cake were delectable. My partner had a ciabatta with the best 'proper' chips as an accompaniment. Friendly staff, good prices, lovely shop.

I knew they did the best afternoon tea around but now they are open on Sundays and make the best home cooked Sunday lunch I've had in a long time. Everything cooked to perfection and amazingly good value at just £6.95. The cakes and puddings are so good too and the tea room itself is beautiful!! We'll definitely be regulars here on Sundays, especially with the lovely park and playground just a short walk away

Our first visit to this tearoom. Lovely homemade soup to warm me and my partner up. Also dog friendly. So a nice treat for our little dog Archie. We will all visit again the next time we are in Howden. Excellent staff.

Quirky little place with divine food and excellent service. Called in just before Sunday lunch started, thinking we would just have something little (until the specials board came out that is!). My partner had the steak and ale pie and I had a roast beef Sunday lunch, we were not expecting the quality or quantity of food that arrived.. you would’ve thought we were in a high end restaurant. Beautiful presentation, incredible taste, excellent service and friendly faces. You can tell that the staff genuinely care about and enjoy where they work. It was lovely to see regulars walking in and being greeted on a first name basis, that’s certainly not something you see very often now. We got cakes to take home and I can hand on heart say, we had the best Victoria sponge and lemon cheesecake we’ve ever tasted (and we’ve tried a fair few!) Thank you everyone at That Tea Room, we will be back soon!

What a lovely place, stopped by on our way home, and found this little gem (on a Sunday morning). We had breakfasts & posh eggs with smoked salmon. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Reasonable price too.

When we arrived in town they took us in and spoiled us. The Food Drink and Warm service were all excellent. No wonder they advised us to book to ensure a table.

Thank you to the chef for going above and beyond in accommodating allergies and preferences, the food was both fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is lovely, the staff friendly and caring, our waitress was right about the smoky bacon, it was lush. Cannot wait to return to try the cakes! Thank you for an enjoyable meal.

Lovely tea room. Went there for a late lunch on Saturday and were pleasantly surprised with the vegetarian options on offer. We had a jacket potato and a halloumi flatbread. Both dishes were nice and portions generous. I’d visit again to try some of the cakes!

Looks like a very small and unassuming place from the outside but is quite different on the inside. The food is very good and the staff are very friendly. Prices are reasonable. Thoroughly recommend. Parking is not easy but there is a pay and display within walking distance.

What a lovely quaint little coffee shop. Great friendly staff, had a good assortment of meals and snacks. Their cakes and desserts looked delicious. Unfortunately one course was enough for me. Maybe on my next visit I will have afternoon tea. Best of all the assortment of Teapots hanging from the ceiling.
