Although I'm a regular in the bar, I've never actually tried the food, until now. Such a great menu with a variety of different foods to suit everyone. Also very accommodating when I asked for the risotto minus the duck! The chef went out his way to prepare me the tastiest risotto I've ever eaten in my life (and risotto is my favourite food so that is saying something!) amazing service, amazing food and amazing atmosphere- what more could you ask for? Kudos to Becs and the team- best place to eat in Howden for sure! �
Saw this place as we were walking past, and decided to call in for Sunday lunch. Glad we did! Excellent service with friendly and helpful staff, and lovely food... Couldn't ask for more... And they do a wide selection of Gins, so will have to call back to sample them!

We had a table of 16 for my daughters 18th. Staff were in touch prior to take our orders and arrange balloons for us. The table looked lovely on arrival. The atmosphere was laid back and friendly. Staff were attentive and helpful. The food was delicious- plenty of options on the menu- all cooked to order. Portions were ample and everyone enjoyed their meals. Thoroughly enjoyed by all and will definitely be returning. Excellent value for money.

Very popular we went for Sunday lunch with friends the England match was on and staff were busy however we were still looked after and the salmon was amazing.

Deserts are huge so no complaints there either ☺️ The decor of the place was lovely too so overall we were extremely satisfied and will definitely be visiting again! Thanks guys x

The best Sunday dinner you will find! Tender meat served with homemade Yorkshire pudding, crispy roast potatoes, mash & gravy. Selection of steamed veg and a plate of the most wonderful roasted veg arrive separately. All the staff are friendly, work hard and nothing is too much trouble. Quick service too…You will not be disappointed!

Very nice place. Good atmosphere and helpful staff. Really good food and a decent range of dishes. The belly pork was a big piece for a starter, the burger was very tasty, proper bacon and crispy onions.

OMG... would be there every day if I didn't live in London.. great quality and reasonably priced. Amazing roasts ... the picture is without the wonderful veg which came with the dish!!!
Excellent service and food, good beer.. was passing through Howden looking for a place to late lunch (most places close between 2 & 5pm), found Bishops Bistro.. had camembert to start which was delicious and sticky salmon noodles for main, which were cooked to perfection. Blondie for dessert (white choc brownie) - again delicious and all made fresh in house. Would highly recommend, reasonably priced considering the quality of food.

Excellent out of the way restaurant..a secret little hole..I had a Sunday roast Quality.. The best I've ever had. Very small so book before you go...congrats to the staff who made it a good time
What a great place.. the Sunday dinner was lovely. Coming up from the 'Saaf' for the weekend to see old friends N and A i wanted a 'decent' Sunday dinner. This place is the place to go. Great atmosphere and everyone was friendly. If the Yorkshire Pud is not the size of my head then am I even in Yorkshire???
