We arrived for a 'voucher deal' meal with no prior booking hoping we could get a table as we were in the area. We were made to feel most welcome and shown to a table immediately. The food was excellent and the service faultless. The owner made a point of coming to the table as well to make sure all was well and we were made to feel very special. This is a restaurant we would happily go back to for both the food and the customer service.

Had a Valentines meal here this evening. Food was good and amazing portion sizes. You do pay a premium for it though. Service was friendly but slow. One person to deal with the floor wasn’t enough and we hung around waiting at times and so did others. Would be better to serve the main dishes on the plates as the tables are too small for all the dishes together with drinks and sides. Worth a try.
I really loved this place. Went for an anniversary dinner and everything was amazing!! I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and the presentation of all the food. Each dish just got better and better. The service was great and I love the interior decoration, very elegant. Some of the best food I’ve had out in a long time, especially the steak. Also don’t skip dessert!! For sure one of the best bits we’re the tiramisu and the banana mousse with banana bread. It was unreal. I loved it so much I went back the next week 🤩. They also have a lunch menu which is such a great deal. Definitely definitely worth a visit!!
I went in with my partner for the first time today. Amazing service, beautiful and generous proportions of food. We had a Sunday roast of lamb and beef. The vegetables were cooked to perfection. The owner was very attentive to all his customers and made everyone feel comfortable.

Stumbled upon this place looking for lunch, the staff were really lovely and the food was delicious. We ordered olives, bone marrow starter, two mains and shared two sides with a glass of wine each. The quality of the dishes were excellent and I’d highly recommend this place. Still thinking about the duck and coffee short ribs.
2nd time visiting and it didn’t disappoint. Perfectly cooked steak, great selection of starters and snacks. Fabulous service and great decor. Looking forward to lunch club and events in the new year!
Had a fabulous meal here. Excellent steak, generous and quality sides and some delicious and innovative starters. Perhaps more importantly - it has a sensibly priced, varied, but accessible wine list. My point of reference for steak restaurants is the Hawksmoor, I see no reason why they’d open in Brighton and Hove as Carne are already doing that and more. Great stuff.

Standouts; duck, rib-eye & dripping chips. Would definitely recommend.
Overall, atmosphere was good, food gets a 3/5. The light from the meat on display was not nice & the music choice was interesting. There’s a bar in the back which many people were enjoying. I think it’s worth a visit at least once.
Update: went for mocktails (10/10) and food again. Would definitely bump up to 4/5 and in the sunshine sitting outside is perfect.
Had the best rib eye steak in recent memory, dripping chips were fantastic. Wife had the slow cooked ribs, incredible. Yes its expensive but the food is really great. Good wine as well. Going back for more Ox cheek doughnuts!
Me and my family book for mother's day, it is my second time coming to carne and they absolutely did not disappoint. The food was again fantastic and the roast potatoes and beef were cooked to perfection. the cocktails and service from the Italian manager was great. I must say that the cheese cake is by far the best baked cheese cake I have ever eaten . Will definitely be back

Had a wonderful experience and service from start to finish, with the manager explaining our choice of wine and which grapes are used to him walking through our dishes and recommending dishes based on our own preference, not just based on price. A massive shout-out to the chef who worked on NYE everything we had was spectacular, extremely happy to make this our last meal of 2023.
Best steak we've had in a long time. Tomahawk was especially good. Really nice selection of sides, sauces, and wines to go with it. We shared a ceviche starter which was also delicious, and super easy to cater for gluten free. Would highly recommend Carne.

Booked for my friends birthday. Service was amazing. Steak was cooked perfectly for a table of 6 and would highly recommend it. It's one of my new favourites in Hove!
Superb porterhouse steak .. tried a few steak places locally and nothing has really blown me away but this was fantastic

This was a busy Saturday night. The atmosphere was great with a real buzz. If it hadn't been for a ridiculous 90 mins wait for food and not the hottest when delivered, the visit would have been great. The staff were very attentive and apologetic. Just too busy I guess?!
The best rib eye I've had and really enjoyed "Guvnor" wine ! Melt in your mouth food. Great attentive service. I'd call it a treat restaurant. Very good!
Great steak restaurant! We visited for the first time on Saturday 3rd Jan for lunch. All the food was delicious and the meat is superb! The Chateaubriand was excellent! We'll be back 👍😃
