Great Xmas meal for 14 of us at the weekend. They catered for our dietary needs/ special vegan menu. We were not rushed, service was great, even in such a busy pub with lots of xmas parties going on. The food was fresh and very tasty. Thank you!

We had the 45 day old aged rump steak and wagyu burger. Both were delicious and cooked perfectly. The triple cooked chips were fab too. Finished with the chocolate caramel fondant. A decadent yet thoroughly enjoyable Saturday lunch. Service was attentive, polite and sincere whilst busy with a great atmosphere, will definitely be returning!

Only went into Hove Place as a friend had moved in just round the corner and we were looking for somewhere eat. Not been in there before and we were all incredibly impressed by the quality of the food and the price. Lovely garden in the back to relax in and enjoy a cold beer or two. We all certainly intend to return again for the food.

Was a regular when I lived in Hove, 30 years ago. I must say Hove Place has aged and improved with years, and it was excellent then. Did miss Young's ales though.

Pretty interesting pub located under some houses, surprisingly cool beer garden out the back. Cool sun trap, and because of the surrounding houses, is protected from the wind. Bar staff were friendly.

Came here for a Sunday Roast and was not disappointed. The Yorkshire puddings were absolutely huge! They benefit from a gorgeous outside space which is lovely when the sun's out, and the place has a really nice atmosphere in general. Been back a few times just for drinks but didn't hesitate to bring family here for dinner when they were down to visit.

Great Sunday roast and some nice dessert choices, plus the outdoor seating is very nice if the sun is out.

First time and definitely not the last one! Beautiful place with delish roast! Staff super attentive and knowledgeable. Birthday celebrations were fantastic 👏🏻 Dione were superb with organising the most beautiful table and took care of us through out the time there ! Can wait to come back again soon! Thank you Hove Place Team

Lovely bar hidden away. It's bigger than it looks and is like an Aladdin's cave. Great service, good atmosphere and music, but pricey. (£21.90 for two glasses of wine.) The main reason for four and not five stars is that the limited cocktails they do are canned! I'm sure they could make them fresh but considering they're £9 each I think it's very unreasonable to charge that price. Will go back, though. Just not when in a cocktail mood!

One of the prettiest pubs in Hove. The food is high quality and delicious. Good range of drinks. Both indoor and outdoor seating are lovely. Also dog friendly!

Great little spot, especially in the garden on a sunny day. Had food here once and it was a great menu and presentation surpassed my expectations. Would recommend at very least to come in for a beer, I believe they do cocktails also (I had a bloody Mary and it was basic at best).

The Sunday roast was amazing. I had the vegetarian Wellington, which was delicious, the biggest Yorkshire pudding, which was also delicious and the vegetables were done to perfection. They were very very busy and we had quite a long wait so they gave all 3 of us free desserts because of our wait time which were also amazing. Very friendly service too

It's rare that I find a place that does so well that I can't think of what I'd do differently. And this place is one of those rare places 🤌🏽 The interior is super beautiful, wooden features are cosy, not to mention they have a fire place 🔥 Garden is quite lovely, especially in the sun! 🌞 The bagguettes we ordered were so delicious too! probably the best bagguette sandwich I've ever had 👌🏽 made with a nice rustic crispy bread while soft on the inside. 🥖 The mortadella was so juicy while the Raghu pastrami was our favourite. The pepper, the sweet gherkin and sauce was so good! 🤤🤤🤤 Definitely coming back for more 👌🏽

Went in to grab a drink before closing and the staff was kind and caring. They had an extensive menu of local ciders in stock and were super informative about the selection. The indoor decor is cozy and well maintained however the seating outback is breathtaking even in an English winter.

Very busy Sunday lunch. We got the last table for 'second sitting' at 2:30pm. Service was good but it was difficult for them to keep up with so many covers. Food was very good. Atmosphere a bit loud and squashed in.

Popped in here after work with a colleague for a quick bite. Ambience spot on, staff very friendly and super helpful. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced.

Venturing into Hove Place, newcomers might find the distinct, somewhat 'porky' aroma of the pub interior noticeable, but this feature adds to the authenticity of a venue that refuses to pretend to be anything but real. It's a nod to traditional pub culture, where the essence of hearty meals forms part of the atmosphere. This initial olfactory greeting shouldn’t deter visitors, as any uncertainties are swiftly allayed once the experience unfolds. While cozy and traditional inside, Hove Place's true heart lies in its impressive outdoor area. Stepping into the garden, patrons are greeted by a haven that speaks the language of both comfort and tranquility. This spacious outdoor retreat, adorned with lush greenery and ample seating, is the perfect setting for any gathering, offering a slice of serenity away from the urban hustle. Whether it's a sun-drenched afternoon or a cool evening with friends under the fairy lights, the garden space exudes a magical quality that cannot be overshadowed. The menu complements the laid-back atmosphere, with an array of delectable and hearty offerings that promise satisfaction. While the beverages pay homage to the time-honored traditions of pub drinks, there’s an innovative flair evident in the seasonal specialties. Hove Place manages to encapsulate the feeling of home for its patrons, with staff that carry the familiar warmth of long-time friends. They serve not just meals or pints, but an experience that lingers, urging you to return. In essence, Hove Place champions the quintessential British pub experience with a unique charm. It's a reminder that sometimes, a little imperfection adds character, making a place not just a venue, but a story in the making.

The pub itself has a nice atmosphere but nothing special to be honest. The food we had for our Christmas party was average. Drinks are reasonable priced. WiFi connection is really poor in the back garden area. Toilets are tiny but clean.

Photo does not do the food justice. It was delicious but I was really hungry so photo wasn't priority. The roast dinner was amazing. I had turkey which is a festive special I think. They also have special autumn cocktails on at the moment. I had creme brulee for pudding with fresh baked shortbread. It was divine. The shortbread was still warm when it came out. Lovely service and we were lucky to get a table as we booked on the day.

A visit to Hove would not be complete without lunch at Hove Place. Conveniently open all day for food. It has a big outside space, great in summer and if you have pets as it's enclosed. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We started with a delicious charcuterie board of unusual cured and smoked meats. We followed this with the lusciously satisfying Fish and Triple Cooked Chips with mushy peas. My friend loved his Chicken with veggies served with a side of mash topped with pastry.. I love this place and I reckon you will too..

Visited with a group of friends for Sunday lunch. At £20 for a roast maybe my expectations were set high as I was a little underwhelmed. A lovely slice of rare beef and nice to be asked by the server our preference. They handled all the orders efficiently and cheerily. The veg was where it fell short. Roast carrot limp and over done, roast potatoes also over roasted and were largely a shell of porato. Yorkshire too was just completely crunchy that fractured when cut. The veg was in a pile under the meat and YP which made them indistinguishable once you started cutting in. None of it bad enough to warrent a complaint but not good enough to entice me back with other friends. It looks like they are doing something right as it was packed which may explain why, in my opinion, it didn't hit the mark the price warrented.
